More Hz or More FOV?

After lowering my resolution from 1920 x 1080 to 1024 x 768, I was able to play at 75hz instead of 60hz. I was wondering if this was worth it since I remember reading on a thread that playing on a 16x9 aspect ratio would set your fov to 105 or something. So should I stick with more hz or more fov?

It really depends on preference here; while 75hz will give you a "smoother" experience (not nearly as much as 120), the wider screen gives you a bit more space to see things. If you really think 75hz looks like a good improvement, then I'd stick with that.

Or you can play on 1024 x 600 which is 16:9 aspect ratio and a low res that can have higher hz.

>:D why not have both? 1920x1080@75hz

Both of my scouts (you know them) are doing the same thing; a lower res but with higher refresh rate, and I think it's paying off. 4:3 isn't too terrible to play in and even a 15 Hz boost is a lot.

1280 x 720 will probably allow you to use 75hz

i think the difference is too small to be worth that much of a FOV change. although some people say low res makes hitscan easier but idk

Alright thanks. I'm going to go for the 75 hz. Also, 1280 x 720 only goes to 60. The options in tf2 also won't allow me to select 1024 x 600(nvm using the properties allow me to. It just looks weird). :P
