#11 chair recommendation in Off Topic
blakeplusplussiyoin the us we look on facebook marketplace for liquidated office chairs since they normally would have stuff like herman millers or steelcase leap v2s at insane discounted prices+1 on this; there are also specialty sites that deal in refurbished quality office chairs, but they'll often be a lot more than the discounts siyo is talking about. still worth tho
i use a Steelcase Series 1, definitely a great simple chair.

https://crandalloffice.com/collections/crandall-remanufactured-chairs/products/crandall-remanufactured-steelcase-462-leap-v2-office-chair

Place of work got bunch of leather Leap V2's...Convinced me to get one too. Crandall's refurbish quality is just as high as OEM.

#2 Desk recommedation in Hardware

https://desk.haus/products/apex-pro-2?variant=39436449087637

I like it a lot. It's a standing desk but incredibly stable even on high pile carpet. 30x60" but no reason it can't take an even larger worktop.

#54 A Thank You Letter To RGL in TF2 General Discussion
untamed... You guys missed that two of the times we DID have tournament mode enabled for it to still not appear...

Did you check your pregame demo?

If you aren't changing map after games and you stay on the same server (eg. home team) then you'll only have a single huge demo file.

Just so it's clear, if you aren't changing level after pre-game scrim and you stay on the same server then it continued recording on to the pre-game demo.

ie. check your pre-match demo.

#777 TF2 benchmarks in TF2 General Discussion
turbochad69You're saying the "-no_texture_stream" launch option affected performance for you by over 25%?

Scratch that.
????
mat_picmip 3 was the issue. I thought worse texture quality was suppose to help with FPS but I guess not.

w/ mat_picmip 3:
5032 frames 15.258 seconds 329.80 fps ( 3.03 ms/f) 41.008 fps variability

mat_picmip -1:
5032 frames 12.974 seconds 387.86 fps ( 2.58 ms/f) 42.280 fps variability

#57 MAJOR TF2 update for 4/18/24 (Windows/Linux x64) in TF2 General Discussion

unintended benefit of this update seems to be the ability to run 2k hz polling without dropping frames/stuttering. But still no go on 4k for me.

-r_emulate_gl
[....]

From earlier in this thread:

rainfor anyone still using -r_emulate_gl
its now just -gl (at least on 64bit)
i know it solved crashing for some people before

Something to try.

#26 MAJOR TF2 update for 4/18/24 (Windows/Linux x64) in TF2 General Discussion
TeoOn dxlevel 95, dxvk seems to give better frames. All anecdotal, too lazy to grab a benchmark. To my eyes the demos i checked ran a sight better than on just dx95 and 64bit

https://youtu.be/mWkpUD_l4AQ?t=187

Kind of curious why there's a random 20% bump for this guy.

================

Maybe we could start using the benchmark from shounic?

Ran some benchmarks, -vulkan is a couple frames faster on my system.
