I am opening up tf2 for the first time today, and it's saying:
Steam needs to convert the game content for "Team Fortress 2" to a new, more efficient format. This will require an internet connection and a few minutes' time.
I was wondering if anyone else was experiencing this. It may be because I never opted in for steampipe.
Just wanted to clarify so I know I'm not the only one.
Thanks.

Yeah it'll convert it to Steampipe.
Your demos should be safe, but your CFG/maps/HUD will be wiped.
