so recently (ie last couple of weeks) i've been getting huge drops in fps down to 50, regardless of whether or not i'm streaming. my rig isn't running hot (39C under heavy load), and it happens in pubs, mge, scrims... doesn't matter. any ideas? i cap my fps at 241, should i try uncapping it?

Run TF2 with the task manager open and check your CPU utilization. Does your CPU usage spike? Also try using speedfan or a similar program to check your cpu temps. In my experience, cpu usage is the biggest factor in FPS drops. I doubt your fps cap has much to do with it, but uncapping it won't really hurt you.
