Summernemo, is this the video you watched?

yep, it was that
Setsulnemothe thing is that south america has 0 coverage and people dont know us, so im not sure if they would pay because there is nothing to make them believe that we are going to give a good showThat explains why i can't find much. Amazing that five of you would've paid for the journey out of your own pocket. i52 is still one year away, let's wait for i49 and enjoy it and the soon-to-be-released i46 documentary.
perfectly understandable
ye we are really sick, lol
anyway it was supposed to be a 10 day trip, so we could also know some of europe
i get mad everytime i remember 8(

I think one part of it is because none of the countries in SA are primarily english speaking. You should get STV demos of your big matches to NA casters to cast for more exposure.

fraacShowmatch?
One team + remote area + no suitable server + already had enough trouble with standard international showmatches = no. We attempted to have aussies play in one of the showmatches but the logistics ultimately KO'd us, this time around.
Showmatches are for hype, not a requirement for running a fundraiser. If the previous two showmatches haven't gotten you hyped for i49 (which is the point of those showmatches, not just HRG/broder/Epsilon), then that's unfortunate.

I don't need to be hyped, I'm not reddit. Would be cool to see how yuki's team square up against new competition, even on big ping.

iM is just way way way better than anyone else downunder. They've won our last 8 seasons of OWL. Four years of total domination. They simply don't have anyone to play that will actually give them an interesting match.

The only showmatch equivalent I can think of is doing a 6v9 with whoever is doing well in American UGC, everything else will just be too one sided (sorry Rewound)

there are like 3 or 4 matches casted by extine/salamancer but there is only like 4 teams worth watching and we always get ddosed by a brazilian faggot when we try to make someone cast
and yes,i think the main problem is the language

You do know that South Africa is a country right? They speak english and Afrikaans there. Afrikaans is more commonly spoken at home, but English is the business language for the most part.

Would like to see an international show match if possible. Didn't Mad dogz vs Pandemic back in the day?
I'm totally going to get the day off work if i have to.

I'm sure we could work something out, but it'd probably have to be on a Sunday (Saturday for you lovely USA/EU people).
We shall see.

if this is going to happen, i think its better if both teams play with 200 ping rather than having one with 200 and the other one with 30
its not like when we play showmatches against the euros , the ping difference is way too much and its likely going to be 5 0 / 5 1 at the best for the team with ping advantage
just my opinion

Guys, the fundraiser is at 4.5k out of the 5k goal.
Holy crap.
Holy crap.
australian routing runs through hong kong to the states and not through hawaii like one might suspect, so there are no servers that you could play on to make the pings even aside from maybe a japanese server, but a match where everybody has 150-200 ping probably wouldn't be the most exciting thing to watch
So hyped, I will definitely have to watch i49. It will probably be great fun with many tight games.
It's been a little over 48 hours and we've already hit our 5k goal! The generosity that the global tf2 community has shown has been truly overwhelming, and on behalf of everybody in the team I'd like to extend a very humble thank you to everyone who has donated so far, supported us on the forums, or wished us the best of luck in this endeavour.
With 38 days to go on the fundraiser we can shift the focus to reaching our stretch goals, so expect some exciting developments in the near future!
I've also tweaked some of the perk capacities to account for community interest so far - we don't want anyone to miss out on something they are interested in purely because we underestimated the popularity of certain perks.
i49 here we come :]
p.s. I'm getting worried that I'll have to find something positive to say about snakewater
