Which version are you using? Did you use 4:3 or 16:10 files? Make sure you have the proper GameMenu file in resouce and the MainMenuOverride file in resource/ui.
EDIT: I can only reproduce this when i rename/delete "GameMenu.res" in /resource/.

I think this hud is really nice. Aesthetically, it's amazing, maybe too beautiful. I like it and everything, the fonts are great and easy to read, but there is just too much stuff going on around the scoreboard, and a little too much going on around the target id's. But it truly is a nice hud.

No matter what crosshair I use, or the values for xpos etc. I set, I always have a plus and minus or a scattergun spread crosshair. Is there something incredibly obvious I'm missing?

Try the newest version, sizzling stats should work now. It was another file that displays that website.

Go into /resource/ui/HudDamageAccount.res and change the "visible" value under "DamageAccountValue" to "0".

Do you want to use one of fog's crosshairs or one of garm3n's? Which files have you been editing? To change fog's crosshair to something else you'll need to change the "labeltext" value in hudlayout.res to the other values from here:

I also made the killfeed easier to read again and added replacement files for a video making HUD (displays only killfeed + damage numbers, maybe some different options in the future) in the "Custom" folder.
Some more tweaks related to menus, medic uber animation and MvM.

Hello and thanks for the HUD. I really like it because it's so clean, but I still have a lot of personal preferences and problems that I don't know how to sort out - I hope you can help me. :D
I've been a long time KBNHUD user and I love it's minimalism (and most importantly crosshair). Although number 8 on the fogCrosshair slightly resembles the one I always use, is there a way I can "import" the KBNHUD crosshair into one of your HUDS? I'm not sure if it matters but I'm going to use either center or blank. The crosshair is a very thin, black circle that flashes red when damage is done, and the dot inside it is not a circle, but a square. However, either shape works for me, but just the thinness and notability of the circle around it is what draws me towards it. Is there any way I can get that or edit one of the given fog crosshairs?
Along with that, part of my screen is a bit wacky (inside is damaged I think) and I can never see the top 1/8 of my screen or so, inevitably blocking out the timers and stuff in game and it's super annoying having to ask my team how much time we have left, etc. Is there a way to move it down near the bottom where the points capped is? An example of this is Grape's HUD, you can see it anytime in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bd2hd63i7Tw&list=UUiqMASSjbXsmH4OoqWs7RsA&index=1
And finally, the red dot that usually shows up in TF2 when scoped isn't aligned with the actual crosshair. The red dot is the actual center of the screen, correct? So that means I have to realign the crosshair itself, I think, can you make sure for me? :c
Edit: I just tried editing the xpos and ypos, but reloading the scheme makes the crosshair disappear. What do?
Edit 2: Okay, I fixed it now, I didn't know you need c-*some number*.
Sorry for the wall of text, I hope you might be able to help me out a bit. :p

Search for "roundtimer" and "Kothtime" in the /scripts/hudlayout.res file. You can change the ypos there to move it further down. Same goes for the "HudArenaPlayerCount" and the "deathnotice" entry which are also in that file.
Regarding the crosshair.. I guess the one from KBNHUD was also a fog's crosshair, potentially a doubled version of it? You can find some intructions for crosshairs in the readme files and in the hudlayout file itself.
Copy this into your hudlayout.res file to add another crosshair (this enables the square, you will have to tinker with the original and this to align them properly and to get the colors and animation right. More info in the hudlayout file.

This is what I could re-create using that for the center square:

Black colors seem to bug the font though.

On the bright side i saw the font errors while doing that :p

I already did, it's a bit weird. Seems like valve broke parts of the positioning, it's very awkwardly implemented and not easy to move it to a proper position atm. You can manually enable it in HudPlayerHealth.res (see here: https://github.com/whayay/yA_HUD/issues/6)
I might still find a way for solving this but I'm kinda hoping that Valve will fix that issue.

I think you guys may have tried to save the hud in the wrong location.
Delete the resource and scripts folder from both \Steam\steamapps\common\Team Fortress 2\tf\ and from \steamapps\common\Team Fortress 2\tf\custom\<whateveryourcustomfolderis>
Then verify your game files and it'll recreate the original resource/scripts file.
Finally, reinstall the hud and make sure you place it in the custom folder (like this: http://i.imgur.com/Xhz0fYc.jpg).

Re-did the animations also, to prep for possible integration into the blank versions.. Might have some bugs with it though.

Okay, I'm having a weird bug with the medic charge %, i'm using the small one that goes near the crosshair, so I disabled the regular large one where the ammo goes, except if I join a server and join medic as my first class I get the shadow of the big % showing up, but if i switch class and hud_reloadscheme it fixes it until i hud_reloadscheme again while playing medic. It's very strange.

Look for the shadow entry for the regular label. You might have some conflicting labels as well.
Tip: Increasing the ypos to really high numbers (9999) can also make sure that an element no longer shows up.
