When i pause a video on YouTube it stops buffering as seen in the image above.
I have tried to do all the things that people suggested like clearing cookies, switching to a different browser.
I was wondering if anyone knew how to fix this. I want my videos to load all the way before i play them so they don't lag.
P.S. I have tried SmartVideo and it doesn't work for me

i think its just that youtube is messed up at the moment i follow some youtubers on twitter and several of them have tweeted that they are having problems today
It happens to me, but I assumed it was a 'feature' to save bandwidth.

It happens to me too. Also, videos will randomly switch to the lowest quality shortly after it starts playing.
Yeah youtubes been having all this issues for me lately.
Is there anyway to make it play in HD automatically? I have it set so it chooses the quality based on my speed, but it always chooses the lowest. But I have no problem buffering 720p+

There's a bunch of chrome extensions that do that. I use this. I would assume firefox has some addons that do it as well.

First world problems.
Solution: don't pause and watch the god damn video.

YouTube is a huge piece of shit now, this shit happens all the time, not to mention sometimes needing to buffer for 5 minutes for a 1 minute video.
They need to get their shit together.
They need to get their shit together.
They've been doing this for a few months now, maybe it's been made worse recently. A friend who has a really awful connection used to open a video then pause and let it all load, but hasn't been able since some time last year.
did this to me, try reinstalling flash player, made it a little better for me.
this happens to me on both my computer and my galaxy s3, i'm guessing it's a feature or something
I use this SmartVideo for Youtube.
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/smartvideo-for-youtube/lnkdbjbjpnpjeciipoaflmpcddinpjjp
This will auto-buffer the whole video and you can select what quality you want. You can set different settings for youtube.com and for embedded.

this has been happening for months/possibly over a year.

could try this with your firewall or router. it worked for a bit, but it stopped for me afterwards.

I've wondered if i were alone on this. IMO its google/youtube phasing in the idea that unless you pay for content you get inferior service (and shit load times). Just my crazy 2 cents.

On a related note, YT stops loading videos for me period sometimes and I have to click a random time or refresh to get it loading it again. Anyone else have this?
