TF2 wont launch?

I have default resource and scripts right now.
I try to launch it, and it will run until it gets to the main menu. Then it stops. It shows up in the Task Manager, then dissapears. Any idea why?

Attempt to revalidate your game cache.

This can be done so by taking the following steps:
Go to your Steam Library
Right Click on Team Fortress 2
Click on Properties
A Window will pop up, procede to click on the tab labelled "Local Files"
Finally, Click the "Verify Integrity of Game Cache"

This will check if you have any missing or un-needed files, and either replace them, add them, or take them out entirely.
