i've heard a good amount of people are encountering this problem while streaming, is there any other stand alone program to run with obs that can prevent this? or any other settings i should use in obs? thanks
use the game capture instead of window/monitor and you shouldnt get any input lag
I noticed the same issue when I steam, it would be nice to know how to fix this

ya he has it right. i ran into the same problem as you with OBS and couldnt figure it out. set up 2 windows, 1 for game capture and one for windows. switch between the two to show your away message or to show people a pick in IRC or a song ect.

Try dxtory + Lagarith Loseless Codec
Dxtory isn't free but records the game window instead of your desktop, so you can alt+tab and still have it showing in-game. The codec is just to take advantage of all your cores if you have a multi-core CPU.

hmm
a long time ago lowering send buffer size (to 4096, iirc) would solve input lag problems, but I don't even think that is a setting anymore
are you getting significant fps drops with streaming? Lower fps = more input lag

Try Windowed mode with game capture in OBS removed all of my mouse lag i had(well i still get occasional because of Random usual TF2 FPS drops but thats something different)
