I think there's nothing wrong of complimenting a demoman stickyjumping back and hitting pipes on one of the top scouts to save the round

This isn't something that is isolated to tonight's cast, otherwise I wouldn't have thought it was noteworthy enough to make a thread about it. I'm not really that bothered since it's easy to just not watch a stream, but I thought it would be something that would help to overall improve the quality of casts. On a side note, I never stated my opinion about hrg as a team or as players (they are obviously the best team in the NA scene right now) - I just think that commentary is often misplaced in the games they are involved in.

it's not that I dismiss it -- I just tend to talk more about why the winning team wins over why the losing team loses. My target audience for the tftv casts aren't the intermediate demomen already invested in the community, it's rather to the more general audience that I believe would like a more positive cast over nitpicking how players/teams are not playing well/screw up. I've been accused of being a 'homer' for teams/players in the past (see: Ggggygygygglgygy's post in this thread) and take the criticism seriously; however, I believe that making the game fun and getting excited at the 'big plays' helps engage the more casual viewer to the content.

I'll consider being more critical -- but I think that type of analysis is better served in demo-reviews by those that know more about the game than me. Or oov.

well a team like hrg is pretty fucking impressive. they don't have the best in class on every class, yet they smash people with coordination, patience, and appropriate responses to just about everything (except the DH HUEHUEHUEHUEHUE) you throw at them.

I personally enjoyed the cast and yeah you could argue that HRG shouldn't get as much praise but if the entire cast is spent talking about the negatives it just makes the caster look like a jerk or a know-it-all. It's a tough position to be in but I think they handled well.

And I'm not trying to call anyone out here but if you ever watch the Epsilon casts for EU the "dickriding" is way worse there. However maybe it will seem like that for us if HRG are still undefeated in S15/16.

Honestly I agree with cbear.. Being a very casual viewer, I don't really want a critical, this-is-where-so-and-so-can-improve kind of analysis, I just want to see people who are very good at videogames do cool things in the videogame. Going on about how that awesome thing some player did was actually just a mistake of the other team where the positioning of mr blah was off and such.. I'm sure it'd be very interesting and educational if you're involved with competitive play yourself, or are generally all experienced with competitive tf2.
Me, I just enjoy seeing people doing cool stuff, especially if they do it as a well-coordinated team. Most casts I've seen help me see those things where I wouldn't if I was just watching the demo by myself.

I don't see what the issue is. Have you seen how tall cyzer is? That's a lot of dick to ride, and somebody has to do it.
On a serious note, new viewers may not know HRG is 33-0. They may not know who the fuck b4nny is, or any other player for that manner. Since I couldn't sleep and it was on, i watched it, and for every HRG dick-sucking moment there was one that cbear would TRY to suck Trihards'.

Yeah I said he was good. Doesn't get rid of the fact that boomer did like 10 damage to a demoman at close range.
