You're asking for a very unusual mic stand. If a boom mic is out of the question, this sort of thing is next best I suppose. It'd fold out of the way nicely, which is why you don't want a solid boom? All depends how well you can get the arm out of the way of the monitors.

I'd probably DIY it out of a free reading lamp

LangeI was looking at that shockmount earlier. It does seem to be a very logical choice and the price is certainly reasonable.
How about a desk-mounted boom though? Most of what I found was either ~$100 or not sturdy looking at all. I'd rather not use trial-and-error to find out what is good.
pretty much that, once you put the mic on the boom your going to need to spend a decent amount to get something that's sturdy. Much easier to find a sturdy non boom mount. Like this http://www.amazon.com/Stage-DS7200B-Adjustable-Microphone-Stand/dp/B0002M3OVI/ref=pd_sim_MI_3
If your looking for something that won't get in the way alot and needs to reach pretty far you will have to spend some money on something decent.

I own a Snowball microphone too.
Do you know what does the 1-2-3 switch does behind the microphone?
Maybe it could help positioning it somewhere else in your setup?

Oh god, it has always been on #3.
No wonder people were saying they were hearing stuff happenning in my home.
Thanks Lange!

I dunno... I think it looks pretty bad, but options are limited.
There are a bunch of other cheap ones.

Care to post a quick review when you have it? I own a yeti and I realized that there seem to be almost no shockmounts for it. So if that thing is great and you think it could deal with the yeti I might get myself one.
The Rode PSA1 is really good, very good build quality. I'd recommend it.
smakersJust buy a blue radius for your yeti.
Oh cool, didn't know about that one.

Be careful if you get the Radius. Make sure the threads are right before you force it. There are two models with different threads and it's difficult to know which one you have because they're not clearly labeled.
It's unfortunate, but there's not really any better shock mount for the yeti. :(
