People keep telling me that streaming should only affect my fps, but it seems like my frames are fine yet my ping is like 200. Any idea if i have some weird settings or something?

If it's constant 200, your internet probably can't handle that upload. What's your max dl/upload rates?

Speedtest.net says my download is ~8Mbps and my upload is ~0.45Mbps.

Your upload is, rather low to effectively stream.

Shame, so that's the limiting factor? There isn't anything I can really do other than get better internet?

Most people will tell you, you need ~1 Mbps to stream content.

And even if you have that 1 Mbps, if that is your WHOLE upload speed, it's still going to give you a high ping, you need somewhere around 1 Mbps extra to dedicate to the upload of your content.

Darn, well I guess I can't stream w/ any quality :\

It'd be nice to upgrade my internet so I guess I'll just talk to my roommates about it and see if they'd agree.

stop making threads for every question you have, use your steam friends

Sorry :\

I always ask my steam friends first, but their knowledge is limited, and the collective knowledge of teamfortress.tv is rather high. Isn't this a place to go to with questions and for help? I'm not spamming the same question in 6 different threads, and (at least in my opinion) they are not worthless or troll questions/threads. If they are not valuable enough to warrant their own thread I can make a single thread and just keep spamming that one.

I agree with pyyyour but in a different sense, people need to start looking for their questions already being posted before making a new thread to ask.
