It's been around for a little while. They also removed "stop downloading" from YouTube for some reason.

They recently got a update in that added comment flags and thumbnail little annotations with the video quality and stats, since then youtube as been unresponsive as hell to me... I can't open more than 2-3 tabs without firefox all crashing and becoming unresponsive, before I could open like 10 youtube tabs with no problem-

YouTube videos lock up for me all the time, mostly when I try to seek through it. Also they won't switch to 720p a lot of the times :/

Have you tried the fix by adding a block to windows firewall? Copy and paste this to a command prompt being run as an administrator:
netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="MITCHRIBARYTUBE" dir=in action=block remoteip=173.194.55.0/24,206.111.0.0/16 enable=yes

New to me anyways.

Sometimes I'll be downloading something, and then go to watch youtube at a high quality. Of course, my internet can't keep up, but youtube decides to lower the quality for me, and then block me from reselecting a high quality after I've paused my download.
Like, shit youtube, I'm a grown boy, I can make decisions for myself.
