Edit again: Scratch that first edit. I just read the reviews and apparently it's dying on everyone. I've had no problems with the first one I linked though, so it's worth looking at.

interesting, i guess if i found that in store it would probably be hitting the 125 dollar range though, but it will definitely be a viable option

That corsair PSU Apollonius linked is also really good, although it's a tiny bit more. Trust me though, don't cheap out on a PSU or it can really screw you over.

lol the reason that im buying a new one is because i had a 40 dollar power supply and it blew up.

im not the most computer savvy guy out there, i was just wondering what the difference was between modular, partially modular, and non modular power supplies

Modular vs non modular the most notice will go to cable management. Modular has multiple plugs for multiple power sources where as non-modular is just one big bundle coming out to be hooked up where ever.

so then i guess modular would be less wires and cables but non modular take less time to install.

To an extent, not having all those extra wires clears up a lot of mess. You have a cleaner case, better cable management, and better air flow.
