Just a small question here. I noticed that the computers at lan this year were really cool looking. What type of computers were used at lan last weekend?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but those computers were from iBuyPower, specifically the Revolt.

Whatever they were, it was even more crash-prone than usual.

If so, that would explain why they were crashing so often. ibuypower has to be the worst and cheaply made computer.
How does ESEA get these computers? Buy/rent/sponsor?

ibuypower is one of ESEA's sponsor, so they provide the PCs exactly so threads like this appear. :P
To be honest, they genuinely are one of the best pre-built producers around.

The crashing this season was relatively mild compared to seasons past really.
At least nothing had to be reformatted and everybody had Tf2 on their PC lol - with TF2 you can't really blame the hardware, this shit just breaks sometimes, unless the PC was blue screening and so on.

For those type of cases, you need a special 'riser' card. This way the video card is facing horizontally along with the case. The only problem with these console-looking slim PC cases is that it uses a pico-psu, which runs really loud under gaming loads I hear. The motherboard is pretty much a square-size shape with only one pci-e slot (gpu) and two ram slots. The best itx mobos are Asrock and Asus' deluxe and rog impact (only for haswell)
I hear silverstone is making a case like this using the Raven series. Personally I like mini-itx towers like the Lian Li Q08, Ncase M1 (crowdfunded only), and Silverstone ft03-mini.
