video is kind of old but it's one of the scariest things i've ever seen

I remember this video. My hands started sweating without needing to start it.
reminds me of those .gifs/videos of russian kids on telecom towers, doing pullups and shit
I get nervous feelings/small vertigo whenever I look out tall buildings. I'm only reassured by the fact it's not be doing this. I wish I was that fearless.
not going to watch the thumbnail freaks me out enough
i remember this
the ending is the worst part because he basically freeclimbs it

you have to watch it for science. it's in the title.

I don't get it, was he supposed to fall off or something?
Not really bothered by this at all. I wonder how much money they make...
anyone who says they aren't bothered by this is giant faggot
i think the worst part would be just climbing down too x_x
That's pretty amazing. I think if it had sound and you could hear the wind blowing it would freak people out even more.
Are you kidding me? That stuff is nothing compared to this:

He climbs a rock face (not a ladder), no protection, for ~2,000 feet. And that's not even the scariest solo this guy has done (if anyone has heard of Moonlight Buttress in Zion National Park, I think it goes at like 5.12ish, he soloed that. Then again, if you've heard of that climb, you most likely already know about alex honnold).

Yeah but that guy doesn't have a fisheye POV cam, not scary
you make 6 figures doin what the guy in the first vid does.
In that case, I would totally do it. You get stay in great shape and have fun while you work. I would guess the shitty part would be messing up or dropping something important on the top and having to do it all again. Also the idea of a storm rolling up on you is terrifying.
this really isnt very scary..? are you guys that scared of heights? he has a harness and is clipping himself in the whole way, how is that scary?
Doesn't matter how much money he's making, we're talking about how scary something is. I'm with mgib, the guy in the first video is constantly protected, and is climbing an oversized ladder. The second video is a guy climbing something that I guarantee most of you are physically incapable of climbing, and he does it with no protection whatsoever and for a longer distance than the guy in the first video.
And I'm sure if Honnold cared at all about money, he'd be making plenty. But the dude just loves cruising around in his van and climbing.

did you watch? it literally says he has nothing holding him to the tower after he leaves the cage, the harness is strictly for when hes taking a break lol it doesn't keep him 100% safe

i guess i missed that part where he said that but either way I would not be scared doing that. in fact if that was near me I WOULD go climb it. I can guarantee that. I've climbed many cranes and random buildings/structures as well as going rock climbing with my dad who climbs mountains, so I guess it's kind of in my blood. But still, this does not phase me at all.
this is more hard than it is scary, it would be tiring as fuck climbing that high with a 30 pound sack dangling from you. the video that #17 posted is actually scary, free climbing is terrifying because you don't have a fucking ladder infront of you like #17 said.

So do lawyers, and they don't risk falling to their death for their job.

Way to not even watch the video, and comment in the thread to seem brave in front of all the internet people.

okay well why don't all of you men of steel go and get that job and make mad doe, sure its not high in demand, oh wait cause you actually wouldn't and you are trying to flex your non-existent e-peen
stfu plz

Many people have their own shit they do that is 'ballsy' from a certain perspective. For you luc, it's tackling 6.5 foot tall 200+ pound men running at you on a rugby field... I find that unimaginable. Literally would never do it. Anyone that rides motocross, goes diving, car racing, downhill mountain biking or whatevs has that same respect from me. Shit I would never do, however you may justify the safety of it.
I'm ok with heights, and I enjoy climbing. My comfort level comes from over a decade of pursuing it, and learning my abilities. On the other hand, I don't even drive my car fast cuz I'm a fucking pussy.
I don't find this video THAT scary because literally any moment this guy finds himself scared or tired he can clip his safety harness to some bomb proof anchor.
