Although I've seen plenty of threads on dx8 flashing, I haven't seen any on dx8 crit flashing. The solutions for the other threads don't work for my problem either, it's really strange.
Basically dx8 works fine but whenever I have crits they flash, like flicker over and over, I can't really show you an example because it doesn't show up when I record with Fraps, but it's really annoying especially because I use viewmodels on Demoman. You can also see the flashing on other players too.
My graphics card is Nvidia GeForce GTX650. The drivers that people have told me to download to fix the problem aren't compatible with my driver, anyone else having this problem?

Have you tried updating your drivers to the latest? If not, downgrade and see if that fixes anything. Could also just be something in your config. I believe the command is -autoconfig. Put that in launch options and see if it's gone.

I am on the most recent driver, and i've tried downgrading, but the problem is there is a fix for most of the dx8 problems which is to download a driver but my driver sadly isnt compatible.
also -autoconfig didnt work. but thanks.

You set that in your launch options right? -autoconfig is supposed to negate all of the settings you have in your autoexec.cfg. When you tried it, it still loaded your config?

if you want to try to see if the problem is a config one just back up your cfg and custom folders then remove them. -autoconfig has been broken for a while iirc. not sure what else could be causing this.

I wasn't aware it doesn't work anymore. Do what he said ^^^

I doubt its a problem with my config, considering I change my config a lot (literally geknaiir) and it still is a problem.
Also, just did that, and it still happened, so yeah its not my config.

I have the same graphics card as you and use the latest drivers and don't seem to have that issue. But besides using -autoconfig and removing you autoexec have you tried deleting your config.cfg incase some bad variables are saved in there?
