So on this laptop, 4:3 aspect ratio is so stretched out and everything is flat & huge.
But on my old broken laptop, the 4:3 aspect ratio was working. (the black bars on the side didn't bother me) I was wondering how could I make the 4:3 work with the black lines and not make everything so stretched out?

one solution is to make tf2 windowed but im not sure how to do that in fullscreen
Change your aspect ratio to "native" or "preserve" in graphics settings
Yeah I tried that, but I want it in fullscreen and the only native is in 16:9 1366 x 768.
I don't have a native or preserve in 4:3 sadly.

just keep it at 4:3 and soon you will too be like kaidus
Iunno how kaidus bears with it, but he got comfortable on accident to 4:3 on 16:9. I'm trying to use 4:3 on a 16:9 stretched screen without it being so stretched.
KwqPLwrite it in launch options -freq 140 .
source takes the currently set refresh rate for the video card, that command does not do anything anymore.

Yes it does. -freq and -refresh still take priority over any setting in your OS/Drivers. I just launched TF2 @ 60Hz without doing anything but changing my launch options.

I tried mostly everything already, still have no solution.
it is probably in your video driver settings. if you have nvidia I can help you, but since you are laptop I am assuming it is a diff driver. look for anything called "aspect scaling"

There's the problem, it doesn't allow you to change anything in the scaling options.

ToastyTHTPlay in fullscreen?
I was never playing in window.
I was never playing in window.
I was playing around with the resolutions and I changed the desktop resolution of 1366 x 768 ----> to 1360 x 768 which is a very tiny difference. By changing it to 1360 x 768 it allowed me to change the scaling option to 'centered' instead of 'full screen' http://puu.sh/50kxE.png
Edit: Looks like that fixed it, got to get used to it now.

I know I probably shouldn't be bumping this, but I just want to say thanks for following up and saying how you solved your problem, instead of just editing your OP to NVM fixed and others with this problem having no idea how you fixed it.

Yup I found a thread an old thread on Steam that was resolved but didn't show the solution, so I had to figure it out on my own. Others tried to help me, it's the least I could do.

If I don't put -freq 75 in my console, my screen will be stretched because 75hz is only enabled for me when it's stretched. At -freq 60 (or if I don't have it) I can play it without being stretched but it won't be 75hz
