Ever since around may of 2013. I've been getting this problem that has been driving me crazy.
I start up TF2, CS 1.6/source etc. I join a server, and i'm able to play for a little bit. But, then I get disconnected from that game's game servers. I check my internet but it's NOT my internet. Does anyone have the same problem? I think what i need is either a new router or modem. But i'm not sure. Anyone, I mean ANYONE please help me on this issue.

Retry just reconnects you to the server. I get STEAM validation the first time I do it and it reconnects me the second time.

My hl2.exe has been randomly crashing recently.
After googling up the error, I found out it could be my RAM. Hopefully it isn't. Now I'm re-installing tf2. :(

you ask a friend to borrow theirs, or if they have a spare. note that an ISP supplied modem may not work.

when you open the server browser and stop the refresh does that help?
when you open the server browser and stop the refresh does that help?
I've had it for as long as I can remember. Happens only the first time after opening TF2, it's fine after that. It has nothing to do with failing internet, everything else works fine when it happens.
I doubt it'd be RAM, but the refresh idea might be something. Then again, doesn't refresh stop automatically as soon as you join a server?

I know that many people have had issues with the server browser in the past and you can lower how many servers it refreshes per second/minute because it will flood your modem. It would normally kill all your internet ability for a min or two so the fact that you can browse means it may not be the issue, but it's worth a shot. So as soon as you open the "server" tab go to "internet servers" and stop the refresh.
