ABOUT

It's the last game of the regular season and two well-established Platinum teams battle it out on everyone's favorite payload map, Badwater. Menace to Society, with a record of 5 wins and 2 losses is expectedly looking like a finals contender this season, but they have to make it through Baby Punching Marathon first. Both teams are very similar in their approach- not very DM-heavy outside a few classes, so expect the great teamwork. The match is a must-win for BPM, who, with 4 wins and 3 losses, need one more win to clinch a top 4 seed. Keep an eye out for the pick classes on both sides" Acooma, spy for BPM, and Noko, spy for mTs have proven themselves to be some of the top spies in the league; Mouse, sniper for BPM, is a beast, but can he counter M4risa? And don't forget about the engies on payload! Will Dave+ and Lightoff be running the Rescue Ranger and ruining people's days? Join eXtine, Kip, and TLB's Brick at 9:30pm est/6:30pm pac to watch the action unfold!

Should be a very nice matchup to see how these two teams are looking going into playoffs.

Best map and yet it only features (unless picked in the Final) in another pointless end of the season matchup where the only thing to play for is seedings.

So.... wouldn't that mean there is a point?

I don't really like UGCs policy of playoff maps being maps that haven't been played all season, but oh wells. It is a good map list this season, and the season is kind of short. To get process, viaduct, and upwards played you'd have to switch to a 12-week season.

Well not even the seeding matters too much because it'll be double-elimination anyways. Even if you get a less than optimal seeding and have to play Ginyu or Street Hoops early on you still have the opportunity to fight back up. So if BPM loses it'll just barely put them in 7th and they'll have to play Ginyu first round on process. If BPM wins then there's gonna be a huge clusterfuck for 3rd, 4th, and 5th between mTs, BPM, and DRS. But either way those 3rd-5th seeds will still be facing Street Hoops or Ginyu in the second round on viaduct. So really seeding just determines what map you play a certain team on instead of the actual teams you play like the old single-elimination playoffs. And the first seed doesn't get an automatic pass to the finals anymore either.
