Expecting to see in it to win it featuring b4nny & co next season of HL.
Will be great to see the overall skill level of HL plat go up. This is an exciting day for tf2 :^)
Sadly, I think it will turn into about 3-5 really stacked teams and then everyone else. I hope this doesn't happen and we actually do get a really competitive Plat season.

I doubt the prize pot will be all that large anyway.
It's unlikely money will attract too many "super teams" - In Europe we've had 3 seasons (in fact maybe more) with prize money for HL Prem, it hasn't encouraged teams to try any harder or see players from the likes of Epsilon form a HL team. Simply put - Some people aren't interested in playing HL, the same way some people aren't interested in 6's.

It's 5,000, it's larger than ESEA-M, but still smaller than Invite yeah.
They are intentionally limiting it to only 5,000$ for the first season to try it out though.

It's 5,000, it's larger than ESEA-M (and even with 9 player 1st in UGC Platinum will award more than ESEA-M), but still smaller than Invite yeah.

I think Snowy meant he believes that it will be difficult to raise 5000 dollars in community donations. I'd agree, but I of course hope I'm proven wrong.

That is what they're aiming for, who knows if they'll hit it. Regardless, this is pretty cool.

According to Infinite, if 10% of the Steam UGC group donated 5$ they'd get 10,000$. I think 5% of the group could reasonably donate 5$. There's a lot of people who play Highlander across the world.

Love the highlander support. It's not for everyone but it deserves some kind of prize pot!
The UGC steam group is a sham. They spam invite that to anyone who remotely touches UGC.
Then again, it's not like I'm opposed to the prize pool. Hope it works out like you seem to have in mind!

Oh I agree, but there's still a lot of people who play Highlander and care about it, I think it's kind of silly to think it won't hit the 5k pretty fast considering how fast 6s stuff gets funded tbh.
We'll see though! I still think they should add donator medals.

Any player who donates $50.00 or more to this effort will receive a 1-2 hour mentoring session with a Platinum player who specializes in donators' class of choice.
