Wait, are you trying to make it so that you can't connect via IP and it forces you to use a subdomain? You can't really stop people from using an IP, because in the end the computer uses an IP address to find the server location.
DNS basically is a database that translates a domain into an IP address. You can't do it the other way around. You can assign a subdomain to point to a different IP though.
If you want to make a subdomain point to an IP, you have to edit your DNS server settings. Varies depending on the vendor like godaddy (either way you're going through a domain vendor). Never actually dealt with it myself though.
