I would rather play for a captain that sets aggressive goals and falls short than a captain that sets the bar pathetically low and limps over it.
They won't win open, but the idea here is that when they do fall short it ends up taking them to the postseason anyway since they worked so hard to achieve their goal.
Then again, I'm the kind of idiot that wants to play at the highest level that I could weasel my way into - even if I was under-qualified going into it.
You play to win the championship - even if you're not the best team. That's the whole point of competitive play in my opinion.

Radium, that sort of mentality works well when you also understand the level of play you're going into. The person above has no esea experience and this would be his first season. Going into your first season with those sorts of expectations from your team is destructive. It would be far better to set the bar for something approachable, like trying to go equal, or simply using the season to get a feeling for the state of play in esea.
