Hey, I'm looking to get a new mouse and have been using a cheap-ass logitech wireless 15 dollar one, and really just felt like I should get a new mouse considering I mainly play sniper and medic, which require accurate response timing for not dropping ubers and getting headshots when deserved.
Now, I've heard a LOT that getting a wired mouse is much better than getting a wireless one, but just about every single one of my friends recommends the logitech g-700. And a few recommended the deathadder. So it would be nice if some people could give me some information, hopefully as much on possible about getting a new gaming mouse, such as wireless vs wired, higher vs lower dpi, etc.

WIRED IS THE BEST
FUCK WIRELESS
G400
DEATHADDER
YOU CANNOT GO WRONG WITH EITHER OF THOSE, UNLESS YOU PREFER A SMALLER/LIGHTER MOUSE, THEN I WOULD PERSONALLY RECOMMEND THE G300- LIGHT AND I HAVE NOT HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE SENSOR
DPI DOES NOT REALLY MATTER, THE SENSOR QUALITY IS MORE IMPORTANT

Super high DPI is a gimmick.

And a mouse I'm personally excited about:

Alright. But there still are a lot of choices, what to get, but that eliminates just about all wireless ones.
Also, forgot to provide a bit more information
I'm looking for
-Small. about the size of the kinzu v2 pro edition
-Not including m1 m2 and scroll, maybe 1-5 extra buttons. Or even none.
-Price range from $30-100 USD. Really looking for the best quality and non-overpriced, as anyone would.
-(If I think of anything else i'll add it here, i'm really not very tech-savvy)
But besides all of this the quality of the sensor and other things as mentioned is really important aswell.
And what about the G500? It's wired, is the G400>G500? Or is it just personal prefrence?

G500 has a flawed laser sensor.

Possibly a Zowie AM, Zowie EC2 evo, or a Roccat Savu going by your requirements.
The G500 is very different from the G400, the laser sensor, weight system, and shell being the main differences.

Zowie EC2 eVo is an amazing mouse. No prediction or mouse acceleration and has built in drivers. The mouse is pretty small and works well for claw grips (Zowie EC1 eVo is for palm grippers, shapped similarly to a Deathadder).
Logitech drivers make me go insane.

Leaning definitely towards either the Zowie EC2 eVo, Zowie AM, or the Logitech G400. If there's any other mouses I should look into, or reasons why I should get one of these over another one of these, that would be great.

Anyone know anything about the steelseries sensei, good? Flawed/flawless sensor?

I don't know so much about the Sensei but I don't trust Steelseries sensors at all.

same as xai with different processing.
There's more to a mouse than just the sensor.
I'd personally go for a zowie/g400...I've got a deathadder that I needed to spend more money to fix to make perfect.

Yeah, I'm really thinking of getting the g400.

Just got a g400, and as mentioned in the "flawless mouses" http://esreality.net/post/2024663/mouses-using-flawless-sensors/
it says the "bad one" has a sticker like the one that i have. should i send it back? how big of a difference does it make??
-edit-, misread, turns out that's the good one

I just picked up a CM Storm Xornet from Amazon for $24. Initially the mouse was garbage because the liftoff distance was unbearably high, but that was fixed with a firmware update. So far it seems to be working flawlessly with the newer firmware, and I haven't had any of the issues people were having with the CM Storm Spawn and Mumble(maybe it has to do with the drivers for that mouse - the Xornet is driverless).
Also for reference, I picked up this mouse to substitute for my G400 while I wait for a new one from Logitech(apparently it's fairly common for the mouse to start disconnecting randomly). I may end up staying with the Xornet because I find it super comfy to use and I haven't seen any issues since I swapped the firmware.

I think the one in the picture is the good one.
Is your PID higher than: LZ13333?

looking both on the bottom of the mouse and on the bottom of the packaging i don't see anything even similar to that. its probably right in my face though.

Rating: 5.0V 100mA
M/N: M-U0028
P/N: (insert phone number)
S/N: 1240HC008RT8
This device complies with Canada ICES-003 Class B
and some other stuff.

I tried, but it was incredibly blurry, even w/ the text setting. I have a pretty shitty camera, sorry.

IIRC Logitech did away with PID, your mouse should be fine but if you're still unsure then open up paint and draw some vertical and horizontal lines.
http://i47.tinypic.com/nyycdz.gif
The lines on top have angle snapping and the ones on the bottom do not, you should be able to tell whether or not your G400 has angle snapping or not.

should i install the drivers first or is that unnecessary?

It doesn't matter, the drivers don't affect the way the mouse tracks anymore so you should have the same results regardless of whether or not the drivers are installed.

Well, my old logitech g400 was having issues, so i returned it and got a new one, the new one has the exact same scroll wheel issue, so i guess i'm getting a new mouse. probably going for a zowie am or something. wish me good luck...
edit
got the deathadder and am very satisfied!!
