Im just wondering if anyone has some tips that could help me do more damage as demoman in 6's
in general but after midfight tips would be helpful too
play more so you know peoples habits and sticky them to death
As far as midfights go, you need to be aware of the typical strategies people run depending on the map. If you know where the scouts or demoman usually come from, then you should anticipate where you can lay down your first stickies at the midfight. Prediction is a big part of playing smart demoman.
Also as far as looking at this question from a team perspective, work with your scouts and have them call where the important enemies are at the beginning of the midfight. Working with your scouts to control mid asap gives you an edge over your opponent. TF2 is a communication game. The better you can communicate with your team the more room your team has to grow.

If you improve your movement/dodging you will take less damage so you will spend less time retreating and you will do better when you decide to play more aggressively.
Don't waste shots, it may seem like you have a lot of stickies(8)/pipes(4) but pick the best target available and aim. Make each shot count. I see lots of demo just spam stickies and pipes, missing by a lot, wasting shots and having to reload during important times when they are needed doing damage.

Holy shit. Nothing will make your teammates want to kill you more than when they want to push in on a small window, and you are going "hold on I have to reload my stickies". This manuever is also known as "pulling a kapoww".

Well a demo should just focus on preventing movement. So, I would sticky the enemies entrance to mid(choke, your poophouse, their house, valley?)/healthpack at mid. Improving your pipe aim through DM should add to the damage as well.

As a scout, I really like it when demos call which soldier or scout is lit. Things like "roamer is lit"/"scout on left lit" is great because then I dont go and try and kill somebody that is actually still at full health.
u probably arent getting aggressive enough. jump their demo at mid, jump their combo at choke, etc. dont sit around and waste your time and get in their face and get some frags. anyone can sit at choke with a trap, it takes a real man to jump in and bomb as demo.
