is Drakengard worth lookin at?

Drakengard 3 was brought to my attention recently and the concept of it really intrigued me, but after watching this...
the gameplay looks boring and repetitive
the level design looks awful
the character design looks cliche and uninspired
the story doesnt SEEM to be anything really all that interesting
and it seems pretty lackluster graphically
but the music is good

is there something im missing/that this video is misrepresenting or not showing?
what im really looking for is the opinion of someone who has played drakengard 1/2 and if they have anything to say about this

One and two were pretty fun, but they suffered from a lot of those things you pointed out. I've always enjoyed the story of these games. Fun for some mindless hack and slashing with a bit of story tied in.

the first drakengard is all right. i didn't get too much into it, but it felt super empty. haven't played the second one though, but from the looks of the video, the third one looks pretty neat.

i probably over-rate drakengard 1 and 2 because it was the first game i ever watched my brother play. the gameplay is a lot of the same, but drakengard 2 did make me cry when i went back to it many years after just watching my brother play it.

just the whole buildup to this, caim was going around murdering everyone so him and angelus could be free. imo its a game you play for the story, but i did enjoy the gameplay. its certainly not for everyone
