rip my lan dreams......
Could it survive if they dropped Main and went back to the 3 div setup?

Probably not, there aren't enough Open teams, unless IM teams are going to go play in Open, chances are dropping Main won't solve the issue.

Main and IM players pay more than open players so that would make them lose even more money.

I would assume main would become IM and IM would merge with open.

CS 1.6 is still alive with only 22 teams...but only open.

better put all you eggs into one basket, that basket being an unproven league with no LAN that has failed before.
I think that issue was CEVO having 2 matches a week and not matching ESEA map rotation. Then teams could have joined both. So I guess some fault goes to CEVO.

That's not the issue. ESEA didn't cooperate with CEVO on the maplist, and CEVO already had a set maplist by the time ESEA had theirs. The weeks would also be misaligned, as CEVO isn't going to delay all of their games just so their TF2 league can sync up with a competitor.
Also, I doubt people would play both even if CEVO had 1 match per week.

x315 teams in open
One last spot to IM
Some of the teams on the open list right now probably wouldn't even be playing either way ie: alfunkso's money burning team.

Is it just me, or did ESEA set the bar impossibly high to make an excuse reason to drop TF2?
Here comes the painstaking 3 months to see if our game dies or to see if it keeps on trucking.

Considering killing was giving away an unprecedented amount of freemium to attract people to play in Open I really doubt that's the case. The problem is that 16 teams make playoffs and right now we don't even have that number. Every team making playoffs is a silly idea anyway.

It just seems weird to me that they keep older CS games alive by just running an Open division and they're making TF jump through all these hoops.

Nah, Killing gave out so much season 3-4ish that most teams didn't even have to pay the first month.

1.6 is an old game and its community isn't actively trying to go to a different league like our community of idiots.

At least give cevo a season to grow before you decide to hop on the cevo bandwagon. Play in both.

did you just get here
did you just get here
so should I pay my ESEA fees today or is next season not happening :/
holy shit this isn't a question pay your fees rofl there is literally no downside to do it if you want to play
I just wish we knew if they were going to extend. They probably will since they do it every season.

If anything I don't think they have any reason to extend this season. Every other season there were at least an adequate amount of teams to play the problem was just paying on time, if they extend this season they may just be wasting their time since the day-to-day team sign ups are nearly nonexistent.

So I had a dream last night that CEVO dropped TF2. And everyone was in my house for some reason.
Interpret that however.

hooky you have to create your own league
lan will be in your basement

yeah so I'll probably just pay my ESEA fees in the next few hours and hope it doesn't die.
