Most people seem to either use Dxtory, MSI Afterburner or the OBS Local Recording feature.

In Nvidia ShadowPAly, if you werent recording, you could save the last 1-20 miutes if you got a sick kill or something

Linkr, thats a misleading way to look at it. It technically records everything, but only keeps it if you press the button.

Just record full time with another program

rangacan you stream with shadow play to twitch

yes, but it doesn't give you the same options OBS does.

hopefully there's an open version of this for all kinds of hardware soon, as Shadowplay uses video cars features that impact performance much less than other ways to record.

I've recorded using practically everything. Fraps, Dxtory, GameClaw(I think), xsplit, and OBS.

OBS is hands down the best of them. The footage doesn't drop frames, isn't choppy, and doesn't lag my game at all. Dxtory won't lag, but there is significant variation in video quality, and at times it gets extremely pixelated. I can post settings of anything if anyone wants.

If you could post your Local Recording settings for OBS that'd be awesome.

Need anything else?
At 1080p resolution I get some minor lag in-game, especially if I'm using textures or any effects.

Note: I don't record from demos like that anymore if I want high quality footage. Source Demo Recorder is the one for that, although that 60fps footage ends up unusable in Vegas unless converted to some other format.

No, that's great thank you. I'll give those settings a go sometime.
