So I have been using Chris's FPS config on my Laptop, which is a toaster.(Building PC soon) and just recently my fps has gotten really bad, on jump servers I would usually stay at like a constant 70, now I dip below 30 on any server, and I dont know why, any help?
Chrom3w0lfTry using Maxframes CFG and switching to DX8.

Also tried that earlier, didn't help, it sucks, TF2 is the one game I enjoy playing.
Make sure your power profile is on high performance and make sure the air vents aren't blocked
Try using Process Lasso and set all the priorities on tf2 to high
This is a basic tip but just in case your not doing it make sure you laptop is plugged in and charging and the cooling mode is set to active (NOT PASSIVE!)

How would I do that on my laptop? I can't find anywhere it'd be possible to do so.
disable windows aero and turn off steam community in-game
For your cooling and power management options go to Control Panel > System > Power Options > Change Plan Settings > Change Advance Power Settings > Process Power Management > System Cooling Policy > Setting = Active.
You should always do this to laptops and desktops. AMD especially because they reduce your CPU power by almost 25% when playing video games to counteract any over heating.
