Hello TF2 people,
This upcoming ESEA season, I am looking for an IM roster. I know some open teams are dying and possibly some IM teams as well. So all we need is 2 people willing to play for 3 out of the first 4 matches (not including forfeits), then switch out for our starters.
All the people on the team are super-chill and have a ton of potential for IM / a few have already played in IM. But anyways, our roster is as follows:
So: Gravegun and Paddie
D: Hippo
Sc: b` and Nate Rivers
M: Cheeriss
Backups: appl and sldzy
Please help us play in IM and spare us a few people for approximately 2 weeks. Add me (http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197998456682/) with the potential roster and people who would be willing to play for a few games.
So let's resurrect a dead team!

why dont you play a season of open and prove you can hang in IM

I really don't see any issue with being straight forward about taking a roster that wont be used anyways. This happens behind closed doors all the time.

Just because you do something publicly and openly doesn't mean it's right.
No one is entitled to a free pass to IM. Play a season in open and prove you belong in IM.

Gravegun - 4 Seasons of IM been playing since season 3
B' - Two Seasons of IM
Cheeriss - 2 Seasons of IM
Nate 6th place in open and team was going IM when they broke up
Me - I am shit
They don't want to play open because they have already proved themselves and don't need a free pass...

good players does not equal a good team
not saying you guys are bad. just that you should prove yourselves as a whole team first

on the one hand, it might be a better look to prove yourself in open
on the other, a lot of teams just get an im roster secretly without this public airing of dirty laundry, it seems unfair to get on the case of a team with the decency/cojones to come out and say it in public

Then why not crack down on the many teams that do this privately. It's pretty obvious when it happens and usually many people are aware of it. Am I the only one that sees a double standard?

The community voted chess club into invite instead of Xen. Xensisty proved itself in IM, while the chess club did not. Good players often correlates to a good team, although I agree it is not a certainty. We didn't demand that chess club prove themselves in IM because they were clearly good enough to play in invite. Can similar circumstances not occur one division down?
Just a few opinions.

"other people are cheating privately, so you guys should really be accepting of people who cheat publicly"

if teams wanna get to IM they should stick together and earn it. too many people quit/reform new teams after every season and just expect to get a free ride to an im roster.
pretty stupid if you ask me

This is a no no. Since you guys claim to be IM ready pls go undefeated in open and easily pass through playoffs and win.

you don't need to go undefeated in open to be able to play in IM.

Invite divisions:
Invite division move ups and move downs are entirely subjective and the guidelines below do not apply.

That's why.

lol "cheating"
he is very obviously following the rules and there is nothing wrong with this, why would you even care unless you are upset that your team is failing to make IM and have some weird videogame envy issues

It (them playing in IM) might be a good thing for new open teams as they'll avoid having to play this roster next season. They're good enough to make it a VERY unpleasant experience for open teams that don't have any experience together.
Players that don't have that much experience will get 5-0'd in about 10-15 minutes by this lineup - and that often causes a decent number of teams trying to learn the game to break up out of frustration.

theres nothing wrong here, just find a dead incoming team going into im and pay two of their members league fees and premium if you really wanna play in im that bad....i think thats fair, thats what like 30 something dollars for the first 3 out of 4 games....gl i suppose

Hello there, I thought I'd put in my 2c on this whole thing.
I'd just like to clarify something.
Other people have spoken publicly about trying to get an IM roster. For example:
downpourWe're going to try and secure a roster in IM, however if you know that your team is not going to live through the off season and your roster is IM capable I would greatly appreciate your help.
And have not had people criticize them in any way about the subject, and I know what you're thinking: "But that's runaway5, they deserve to be in IM" Yes, but it's not entirely the same team back in S11. And it is very much the same situation for this team, 3 members of our team have all played with each other in the past. Namely on Juanetic/Sinners Truck Problems.
But as it stands, r5 will not be the same r5 from s11, they will have different players. I'm not harping on r5 and telling you to give them the same treatment, because I believe they SHOULD go to IM and definitely deserve it.
It's just this confuses me on how the reaction can be so different for almost the same circumstances.
I have no problem playing in Open at all and I am by no means using this as an excuse to "not play in open" but just think about what I've said. Because it's just the huge difference in reactions that baffles me. I hope I haven't offended anyone because all I'm doing is pointing out what already doesn't make any sense to me, if you can explain that to me I'd appreciate it.
Anyways I've said what I've needed to said and well I appreciate you few out there that support us! Thanks. :)

Played this team on gullywash the other night, they did ok. I won't say if they're ready for IM as a team or not, but I don't see the harm in them wanting to play IM already. If they get rolled every game, it will show what they're made of and if they decide to stay together they'll learn a lot from playing in IM, rather than open. I do believe people should earn their way up from open to IM in most cases, but there are instances where teams are ready to play in IM immediately.
