I will be sending this off to all Invite Captains in the next couple of days:
We’ve decided to force all invite players to switch their aliases to the one that they are most commonly known for as of Sunday, July 27th. This means starting with their match after Sunday, every player that does not comply will be assessed an Invite Conduct Policy ban. From the Invite Conduct Policy page: “We believe ESEA Invite players are looked upon as role models by many members within the community. We expect professionalism from Invite players and prefer them to act accordingly.” I don’t believe I have to go into much detail on why this rule is important. If you have exhausted all your alias changes for the month, please pm me.

I thought ESEA already had a policy that players had use proper aliases on ESEA TV, being on the largest 3rd party cast for our game shouldn't be any different.

Maybe make like ETF2L, where they had to use league's nickname in the game too or inform someone if they wanted to play under different name.

With the way ESEA works the client forces your in game name to be the same as it is on ESEA while you're playing in an ESEA server. It's as similar of a rule to ETF2L's policy that ESEA can get with the way everything works there. I don't really think it's necessary but I guess some people want this game to appear more "professional." Dunno why it's only just now being implemented since it's something that people have asked for in the past multiple times.

flameThis thread got out of control real fast.
Literally I just want ESEA to enforce a rule that your ingame name needs to be decipherable up to 8 characters and reflect your forum/steam name. At least in invite if you guys want this game to be taken seriously at all by anyone.
The way I see it, the biggest issue with TF2 blowing up right now is good stream content. Matches are the only thing you can cast in most games and ESEA is the highest level around.
You're not helping the game grow by making your name WEEDSMOKER69420 or ROFLBLAZE5HEAD
help.
You forgot to mention CHOKINGVICTIM from a few nights ago. That is the image I want for the game I play, finding humor in people being choked.
Idc what your messed up sexual fantasies are.
