Hey guys, so I'm working on designing a map and I needed some help, so I thought I would turn it into a community project.
The map is pretty barren right now. It is technically ready to play, but would lack fun, challenge and balance.
So far I've begun working on the mid point. What should the mid point have? This is what I have so far:

From here you can see it's the boardwalk from Badlands! Pretty basic stuff. It's elevated off the ground though, so the only way up there is a double jump or a rocket jump. However, there are crates on left side of the point (from your team's perspective) that can be used for other classes to get up.

Another unique feature I added was the ability to cap underneath the point. Now, I know what you're thinking: That doesn't sound balanced! Now, hang on. I thought of some ways to balance it. First, when you go underneath you have to crouch to get to the area where you can cap. This limits your movement and your escape. It is also very easy for a Soldier or demo to hop off the point and spam underneath. Another way to take them out is to fire through the cracks on the ground (exactly the same as badlands).
Now, nothing in this has been tested for perfect balance. All I've tested is the compiling and capping + spawns (which seems to work right now).
I would love to have some constructive critiscm regarding this map. Do you like my ideas so far? If you don't, what are some ways to improve the map? Do you have a suggestion for the mid point (an addition)? Post and if enough people like it, we'll implement it!

If you make a layout like in paint I can make the map but I'm going to use dev textures you can do the rest if you want. I've wanted to get back into mapping since I stopped afew years ago

i really want a ctf map that's based on the middle of this:

and based on process 2/4 for the flag areas
(the open area and ramped platform parts are the most important)
no idea about the bases or anything but I want them to be next to or behind the flag instead of front of the flag like normal

gang garrison maps would be a pain in the ass to transfer over due the them being 2d and having many different floors, imagine well last, but with the entire map having that many floors. It just doesnt work out

no shit, what do you think gg2 mappers had to deal with when they were copying TF2 maps?
having a hill or bridge with a hole through/under it at the mid of the map isn't a novel design concept, considering that badlands did it.
