hakkaGoogler and I present our new DUALCLIP for this contest. We worked so hard on this, for about 2 months (60 - 70 hours each one) and it was a very nice experience too. We like the result, I hope you guys too!

I just finished grading all the movies this week.
Let me just say it was a long session but really fun to see so many different edits and amazing frags.
While there are some really underwhelming entries there are also a lot of really cool movies and excellent frags in the contest. Good luck to all and may the best one win :)

Haha ok, when it happens twice in a row, it's not funny anymore. With all due respect to Tooni, while his movie was enjoyable, he did make some beginner mistakes - plus there were quite a few better entries in the contest.
Now, if there is another contest next year, I would recommend having more than 1 moviemaker in the judges, in fact, the judges should ONLY be moviemakers, or it ends up like this. Then again, who knows how many entries you will get next year, since many editors probably won't feel like entering...

Also its really pointless to argue with the results if you don't for which aspects each movie was graded. Fun fact: My note was the highest by far between all judges for Googler's movie. And while I don't agree with the rankings necessarily, and my top3 was different, I'm just a member of the judge panel, and it's a group decision so my opinion has as much leverage as any of the other judges.
Now throwing a tantrum over this and blaming the judges and saying no one is gonna enter next year is certainly not the best solution. Afaik tf2c is one of the few organizations that still supports moviemakers in the scene so just be mature and don't act like a spoiled kid.

There are more chance to win and to earn more cash in the Movie Nations than in TF2 Connexion Movie Contest.
Other moviemakers don't have time to make fragmovie for our contest and want to focus in Saxxy's Awards (Unfortunately, Valve choose the same deadline like us), it's a very interesting contest. And if you win, you can be famous like Saladeauthon.
Actually, thanks to our sponsor (ROCCAT) and french donators, we organize a contest to prouve the TF2 community can create events especially from the french community.

After discovering some further info, I have a little suggestion if there is a next year - try giving less points for frags and general appreciation and more for edit instead. Mainly because the frags themselves are not something that the editor puts a lot of effort in, and while a good choice of frags is important, it is certainly less important than the edit itself. As for general appreciation, I understand that the judge should have the right to put some subjectivity into the rating, but again, it shouldnt have as much weight as the edit itself. Take it as a suggestion, in my opinion it might help avoid these kinds of situations. Anyway, sorry for ranting so much, I am just disappointed to see hakka and Googler put so much effort in such a well done entry like Genesis and not get recognized for it.
