Need help removing TF2Mate Config

I recently installed a maxframes config from TF2Mate (http://clugu.com/tf2mate/) and it's been messing up my game.

When I'm in game, the maxframes config works fine, but there's a distorted sound, a sort of static playing in the back of my headset, and it intensifies when more things are happening in-game, making the classes sound robotic. This is also coupled with a huge drop in performance and a delay of actions (i.e gun fires, sound plays after it happens).

I've tried following the instructions on this forum post (http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?p=22112149) but Steam Cloud keeps re-uploading the faulty config, when I just want to reset everything to defaults and then reinstall the proper config from there.

Would anyone know how to deal with this, what files I would need to delete/keep to completely rid the config from my files?

Sounds like the result of custom sounds on an sv_pure server. If you have anything like that disable it, and you can keep the config.
Other than that, you can change the steam cloud settings to TF2 by right clicking it, clicking properties, the tab downloads, then checking the steam cloud option on the bottom of that tab.

I don't think it's the sounds on the server, as the static is still there when I loaded into a sv_pure 0 server.

Unless a hitsound can cause it, I'm going to try resetting the steam cloud again, thanks for the help.

I'd suggest that you not use tf2mate, I've had nothing but trouble from it. When I used to use it it unbound all my keybinds every time I died. Everything it does is available elsewhere anyway.

nobelharvards"-autoconfig" in launch options will reset all settings to default.

snd_mixahead is a setting that determines the audio latency (number of seconds that a sound is played after an action, like shooting, the more delayed, the smoother the sound, the less delayed, the more responsive the game feels, default is set at 0.1). If 1 is divided by the number used in snd_mixahead (e.g. 1/0.1 = 10) and you drop below that in FPS (i.e. < 10 FPS), then crackling in the audio will result, because the audio has failed to buffer fully before being played.

Future reference
If the culprit turns out to be custom content, you can try cl_downloadfilter "mapsonly" in your autoexec to download only custom maps.

Resetting snd_mixahead back to its default was the fix that I needed, I seriously can't thank you enough!
