So I've had the Samsung Galaxy Player 5 for some time now and its served me well, but the thing just doesn't have the oomph it used to and the ol' battery is starting to hold less and less of its charge. I generally use it for music, video, web access via wi-fi on the go, video game emulation, and other things (fits snug in my pants or jacket pockets) and I was wondering if anyone had something similar to the Galaxy Player 5 around the $200 price range. Less expensive is better but I'll spend what I have to in the 200s to get something that won't fall flat on its face.
In all honesty, I think you're going to have a hard time finding a replacement. Ever since smartphones have become the swiss army knife in everyone's pocket, the standalone PMP market is all but dead outside of dedicated audiophile devices (Pono and HifiMan's players for example), and those are much less versatile than the Galaxy Player.
Yeah, what you're essentially describing is what all smartphones do these days. You could by all means just by a cheap android around $200 that will do everything you need.
If battery life is an issue, you can always buy external batteries to recharge from now too. Some will even be small enough to toss in your back pocket.

Man, that really sucks. I guess another option I have is the Nexus 7 or the Samsung Tab, but I doubt either of them could fit in a pants pocket anyhow.
