It is a serious insult to the people that have been supporting this scene from the beginning. I am very sad to see this kind of ignorant behavior from the admins.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing Skeej, it is easy to point out an obvious mistake afterwards. We'll look to rectify this for next Season, hopefully with an EVEN BETTER whitelist.
I admire your courage, to admit your mistakes with such audacity. Truly the sign of an examplary leader. I am looking very forward to seein the next Season come to fruition, with even more hype and a qualitatively higher rated whitelist.

The spammers in twitch chat and the forums are general were starting to get me down, I am sick of seeing toucans and 'memes' everywhere and seeing how wonderful the TF2 community can be in our hour of need is truly amazing. It has inspired me to go even further for Season 21, there is no limit with this wonderful community behind me. I have heard from a reliable source that Nike have shown interest in our game before and feel like this is a suitable and fruitful path to go down.

I would like to offer you a small token of my gratitude, please graciously accept my gift of the parrot for the Demoman. I know it resembles a toucan, but I hope you can look past this.

I do wholeheartedly agree. I mean, look at for example, Sideshow's channel. Even though his donations have text-to-speech enabled, noone's abusing it, like spamming W's or other letters. Really shows how mature and collected this community can be.

I think the community fundraiser was a great idea, as for the sustainability of it, I think there is enough of a turnover of players and enough perks that you would want more than once, that it could certainly be sustainable. But I suspect new perks could be found anyway to keep it fresh.

I had an idea for future fundraisers which might possibly make the fundraiser idea more sustainable (I think it is pretty sustainable as is, this is just an idea to possibly help)...

Have a €2 suggested donation for players. Kind of like museums (not that etf2l is a museum) where it's free but there's a little donation box that says please help us and put in $3. Maybe when they register for a team or something, you can prompt them "Do you want to donate the suggested €2 to ETF2L to help fund the season?" Maybe they could have an innocuous forum badge or a ticket in a raffle if they do donate. Nothing huge, just a small incentive to make it clear that the donation is appreciated.

Obviously lots of people just wouldn't donate, and ideally it would be made clear that if you're poor or simply don't want to, there's no obligation to do the suggested donation. But I think a surprising number of people would gladly pitch in the recommended amount. I dunno. Maybe it's a bad idea, but I thought it was worth mentioning and could possibly be useful.
