im very new to this scene and i just had a couple questions, Do you think that i should pick up a intel core i7 4790k or a intel core i5 4690k, i primary play team fortress 2 with a bit of counter strike:go. And would you suggest an amd cpu for video editing/streaming/etc?
We'll if you are looking for an amd CPU then what budget do you have in mind?
You really don't need those expensive CPU's for just TF2/CS:GO and a bit of video editing and streaming, also since you're asking on advice I guess you're also not someone who overclocks, I'd personally advise an i5 4670
What's your motherboard/which one do you plan on getting?
I'm generally advising against overclocking right now, it's not worth it except in a few select cases.

While TF2 is very CPU dependent, it does not utilize hyperthreading/more than 4 cores unless you turn on multithreading for bones. If you're streaming, go for the i7; the extra threads will help a lot. If you're not streaming and budget is a huge issue, get the i5. You don't "NEED" them to run tf2 @ 120fps but valve might change something in their updates etc.
If you can afford it and are streaming, i7. If not, just get the i5; you won't see much difference at all. Overclocking helps a lot too with source as far as the CPU goes.
