I am taking a look at different games that have support for mods, how they work, how easy it is to install them, stuff like that. So I got some questions regarding that.
1) Are mods popular in other source games like cs:go or l4d2?
2) What are some big games that have mod support besides source games?
Thanks for answering :)

Both Gamebanana and the main Steam Workshop list a bunch of games and mods people make for them.
L4D2 has lots of custom skins, models, and campaigns - I really recommend Questionable Ethics with a full team / no bots.
Skyrim also has a Lot of mods, and they can be pretty interesting

Mount & Blade: Warband has a lot of great, expansive mods. They're all easy to install too, just copy past into a folder and select the mod from a drop down menu in the launcher. Two mods have already been so successful that they've been remade as DLC for the game

Skyrim is the best for mods, since they're the only thing that make it fucking playable.

The Mount and Blade series is big on mods, Skyrim, any Total War game, GTA 4.

Banished is not that big of a game, but had mod support built in pretty much from the beginning, leading to the publishing of great mods such as "Colonial Charter", which are entirely community-made and free.

www.nexusmods.com is a good place to start.
