Updated the download link for windows and trying to figure out how that shit ran on linux/mac rightnow.
Just out of pure interest, would there be demand for a new website for hitsounds?
Anyone still happen to have a beta key? I'd appreciate it a lot :)
I am taking a look at different games that have support for mods, how they work, how easy it is to install them, stuff like that. So I got some questions regarding that.
1) Are mods popular in other source games like cs:go or l4d2?
2) What are some big games that have mod support besides source games?
Thanks for answering :)
That is some really cool stuff, I'll have vacations soon so I'll look into what I can improve in 4plug and maybe add some features that'll help ya :)
FusilliIn the image you provided in the introductory post, metadata and a thumbnail are provided for a VPK file. How is this done? If I place a VPK in a folder, 4plug recognizes it as "Something Else". Thanks!
It should show up as a vpk if it is in the custom folder, image and metadata are stored in different files
I added omni and I'm working on improving 4plug a bit :)
RawrThis reminds me of the tf2 plugin gallery that four made. It would be super awesome to be able to merge both projects together, especially his sppi protocol that allows the plugins(including huds) to be installed directly without having drag the files into the custom folder. Too bad four has been offline for ard a month now due to no internet.
I'd love to help with this project, it's definitely better than the website I threw together. I just need to get internet again. It's been so long :<
Intellectualis there no exe?
That's only the source of the program, the compiled exe is here
Update v1.01
4Hud is now Open Source ^.^
Check out the repo here: https://github.com/fourtf/4Hud
Changes:
- Added "select" text to the buttons in the Hud Select Menu
- Added Settings item to the menu again
IntellectualHi, four. I'm not sure if this is a bug related to your program, but sometimes when I open up 4HUD, it doesn't appear. The alttab scrollthrough shows its existence and that Aero peek thing, the taskbar, and the task manager says it's there, but it is not. It's as if it is running invisibly. I run one monitor.
I'm not sure why this would happen but if it doesn't always happen and you can deal with it I'd say that I can't do anything about it
SanikEDIT: I didn't like the font to the actual hud because it looked ugly and stuff. Can you please make like a yahud version of it?
How about you just take the font from yahud and replace the font from this hud with it?
Hey I made the tool 4Plug which is essentially a plugin manager tool. I made an update yesterday that allows any plugin to have updates via a dedicated Server hosted by the glorious tsc. Also there is a plugin gallery in which you install plugins with one click using a browser protocol I made called sppi and 4Plug. link
Now the only thing that is missing in the gallery is actual plugins. So if you want your plugin to be added into the list, add me or make a post here.
I also made a poll about the gallery and 4plug, I'd be glad if you could fill that out :) google docs poll
DeathyDownloaded it to try it out, but there's a little problem. When I launch it, I get this:
http://puu.sh/6PU91.png
As you can see, it doesn't recognize the HUD or the hitsound or anything. It just recognizes the name of the folder the hitsound/hud or whatever is in. Is that normal?
That's normal, the plugins got recognized properly but none of them has any metadata or thumbnails :)
