Hey,
There will be a possibilty to bet on Thursday's game as a part of the ongoing testing. While it's a test the game will be for real and you'll be able to keep all the won items.
I want to limit items for this to around 20-40, but if all goes well we can launch next week or week after.

And the game is Awsomniac vs. suave which is a pretty good one, worth watching even if you don't follow eu scene.
Great! Was waiting for this site to become active. Go SUAVE
Will add you on Steam tommorow then :P Everyone else is free to add me aswell.
fuck sake don't give suave more encouragement to throw!
tobshow do you bet? or is it still a closed beta :(

There's a limit of 20 bets for this game mainly because the website is still in beta so I don't see how they would want to throw..
Would it be feasible to collect team players and steam profiles and automatically block them from betting on their own matches? I think that would be a practical solution to a possible problem

I'm doing that by hand since it's easy to create and alt ;)
I get reports of alt account automatically :p

Wouldn't it be easy to just give a bunch of stuff to a close friend to bet on a team for you if you're already participating in one of the matches?
Of course it would :P
I'm not saying that throwing is impossible, but it may be harder :P

You shouldn't go live with this website until you have a system of account checks/ admins in place to make sure that
a) The players cannot bet on their own matches.
b) Any large bets' histories are checked.
c) You know for sure nothing can get screwed up.
d) Every last page on the website is as clean a whistle and professional as well.
What I saw when testing around a few days ago was something I'd never trust with anything more than a few ref.

How does the double map system for etf2l work here though? You know, in case SUAVE wins badlands and aws wins viaduct.

Thanks for the tips, I think I have most of this covered, but I'll still do a couple of games with bets limit before I go live just to see :) You're free to report all issues you're worried about on Saloon.tf's GitHub where you can also see the source code of the whole project.

You couldn't really see a lot, because you weren't connect and even though you acted like you want to help me see if it's an issue on your side or mine that didn't really work out, since while you were always responding with ok at the end you were always too busy to press F12 and perform two clicks :)
Let's just blame my school, your work, timezones and move on from that :P
Still it's a valid opinion to have and while bots already had more than 1000$ worth of items in their inventories at some point if any of you have a bad feeling about website, any match or teams then simply don't bet. It is your right to chose who you trust as we're all adults or teenagers at least.
Also please do not bet if you cannot handle losing :) Let's just have some fun.

Then it's a draw and all items are returned. If the game has a spread then one team may need to reach a certain number of points like 4-2 for a match to be drawn, but this is not a case here.

CHERRYOf course it would :P

Also I think I may have worded it wrong as it already got a minus frag.
There is no way to prevent users from throwing as they don't even have to bet. They may just share the info for money...
I am doing a lot to prevent it, some of the stuff I do I've already listed in this thread, but I am not an oracle nor am I going to install spyware on players' computers to read their messages..

i havent kept up with this thread so it may be answered already, but is there a limit to how much a single items worth can be bet or a max bet? for example, on csgolounge, 60$ is the max worth of an item. if it is worth 100 on the market, you could still bet it, but itd only be 60. that coupled with 4 item max makes a 240$ max bet
The item of the highest value is an earbud. So at this point it's around 20-22$, but it will change when buds rise or drop in prices.
I may include other rare commodities later, not sure yet.

There's no need to be passive aggressive rofl. If you want to call me out, feel free. But be actually-aggressive (like this): you've been working on this website for almost a year and saying it might be ready since i55 and it's beyond frustrating that I abandoned a very similar project with a few actually-competent friends of mine from school because you were close enough to release plans of your site TEN MONTHS AGO and it still hasn't gone 100% live yet.
But as for the actual content of your message: until last night I had been up since Friday morning at 6am with a total of 9 hours of sleep. I have been back to my apartment once since the start of this school week (when you messaged me) because I'm taking a lot of hours and all my professors have made this the catch-up-on-everything week. I even told you that you'd want to get someone else to help because I've been very busy. I'll walk back to my apartment where my computer is and "click twice" tonight, but for now you'll have to go ahead and keep calling people out in this thread and shit posting in other threads.

It wasn't an actual content, nor I meant to be seen as passive aggressive, cause if I wanted to I could word my message way differently since I actually tried to be very careful to not sound mad or offended. It was just a little flip just because you felt like you knew enough to judge my work even though we couldn't verify what was the reason for your bad experience or if it was my fault at all :)
We all have our own lifes and I do understand it, I wouldn't even mind you telling me to fuck off I'm busy, when I wanted a little hand since you're in no way obligated to do that. Simply when you post something like this on forums when you couldn't see half of the website, because of some issue which didn't really have to be website's fault then I feel like I have a right to clarify or just share my view on this.
EDIT: I don't want it to be misinterpreted, so instead of saying anything I'll just ask. Are there hurt feeling involved in this or was it your genuine opinion after a ten minutes experience which was limited to seeing an error on home page?

I'm :) not :) being :) passive :) aggressive :) stop :)
They are only at the end of sentences :P
Not sure what you mean, need my facebook archive so you know how I write when I'm mad and when I'm not? :D
EDIT:
I thought I'm better than doing that for the sake of an internet argument, but I guess I'm a nerd.

I've heard of cherry picking logs but cherry picking Facebook messages? I'm going to need every conversation you've ever had over Facebook to increase the sample size :)
Well are you really interested in photos of flowers I send my good friend inviting her to come with me to a party or YouTube links? I don't think I'm gonna fall for it and start posting screenies of everything :D
Just look at my forum archive if you must.
EDIT: Oh and cherry picking is a nice pun, feel bad for not getting it now.
