This is more of a PSA to those who didn't notice
It's pretty crappy that you can't link it to Google Authenticator but maybe theyll do it down the road.
Anyway theyre adding 2 step authentication requiring a phone to log in anywhere that you haven't logged in before.
I've been remote desktop hacked before with a trojan but this should protect you from every other phishing attempt.
You have to join the group to get in the beta but if this gets released and you don't enable it and get phished it definitely opens the door to victim blaming

they need to refine their steam android app first. before last week when they added the mobile authenticator to the app it hadn't been updated in over 2 years. the app is crashing for a lot of people as well as myself. just my 2 cents.

It's really slow, has a shitty interface, and has some problems with steam groups. The biggest problem with steam groups is that you can't check events and announcements, which means you have to use the website in a mobile browser. Not fun

the app is awful, the only benefit it has is that if youre at work and want to buy a game on sale you can remote install to your home desktop from the app which is nice.
but you dont need to use the app to auth unless youre using like webchat or a pc you dont usually use steam on.
either way, use protection
