Looking for a new mousepad and mechanical keyboard.

Requirements for KB
Tenkeyless
Cherry Brown/Red
High build quality

Mousepad
Fast but controllable glide
Durable
Flat dark colors (works best with Zowie AM's sensor)

Opinions on C4 pads/Artisan? If so what model?

I enjoy the Puretrak Talent. It is has nice build quality and it's big. Not sure if it would work with the Zowie sensor.
For the KB, I have a leopold one. http://elitekeyboards.com/products.php?sub=leopold,tenkeyless&pid=fc200rrab It doesn't have the greatest design ever but I like it. I was also suggested the Noppoo Choc Mini as well but that thing apparently has loose keys. If you are willing to pay a bit more, you could get a Ducky Shine II or something like that. I saw that in a keyboard recommendations thread as well.

I have a Puretrack Talent and although it worked wonderfully with my old g400 i get jitter when paired with my Zowie AM. I am currently using a Zowie G-TF speed(XL) which i found hates dirt and eats my mouse feet.

I also have a Leopold, and I really like it. Personally, I am a fan that it has no extra bells or whistles (like I don't want macro keys for example).

As for a mousepad, I have a Steelseries one. It's been awhile sicne I ordered it, but I personally wanted something massive and plain. I think I have a Qck+, I think it is like 17 inches wide. I love it, and it was cheap (like $15).

FC700R /w browns
Artisan Hayate

Used the keyboard at a friends and ordered one online 10 seconds after typing on one. I've owned the Artisan for quite a while and it's just great. Great glide for a cloth pad, plus extremely simple style gives it bonus points in my book.

i'm same as #5. love my leopold, and the qck has always been consistent. when i use it, the edges fray after about 6 months use, but you can always buy another as they're dirt cheap.

People who want to save space. And you don't have to buy them. There are some keyboards that are decent and have keypads. And if you don't like that, I heard there are hybrids now if that floats your boat.

and Leopold.

I've got a Zowie ec2 eVo and Artisan Hein Mid. The tracking is great and there's no skipping at all.

The one thing I regret about buying my Leopold: not getting tenkeyless. I was like "well might as well get the number pad, I might use it EVENTUALLY" but now I wish I didn't have it.

I have the Leopold Otaku Tenkeyless with MX Browns and I'm loving it. The build quality is fairly decent and even without the PS/2 adapted it can pretty much register all the keys I need it to.

Mousepad-wise I'm using a Zowie G-CM with a Zowie EC2 eVo. The reason why I didn't pick the G-TF was that it felt like it would eat through my mouse feet fairly quickly. The G-CM is a cloth surface and so far I've had no problems with it. Mine is XL and is more than comfortable to play on.

EDIT: Didn't see that the OP decided already, sorry.

Lol are you serious bro?

Strong terrible decision making.

What was the point of making this thread if you weren't even going to listen to the people in it? Why would you spend $90 on a sub-par keyboard when top quality (Leopold) costs the same?

pls respond...I have to know your reasoning

Learn some manners. You come off as very demeaning and aggressive.

Do you have any data behind your claims? The QuickFire Rapid is a solid keyboard and I would argue that it's better than the Leopold.

It looks like you need to do some research on mechanical keyboards.

Quickfire Rapid has the same build quality as a Filco. (this is good if you don't know what a Filco is).

I'd argue with you, but you seem to have the maturity level of a ten year old.

frknQuickfire Rapid has the same build quality as a Filco. (this is good if you don't know what a Filco is).

Exactly; these should be roughly the same besides a few small differences. In fact, I remember reading that Filco and the QuickFire were manufactured by the same OEM. The Costar stabilisers used in these keyboards is generally considered superior to the Cherry ones used in the Leopold.

I'm done here. Enjoy your keyboard, Screwball.

The PCB used in the CM boards are lesser quality compared to the Filco from my research.

Also, Filco or Leopold? from majestouch, a guy who owns a mechanical keyboard store and has dealt with both brands extensively.

OP would've had a amazing deal on a keyboard if he had bought during Black Friday, when it was $40.
