the people who picked boink were already fucked let's be honest
I've never played a fantasy league before so I might just be confused, but am I supposed to lose points when I transfer players?
I was on 265, and now I'm on 252 (ash had 13 points before he got cut so I'm guessing that's why), but I would have thought the points he scored last week would still be there when I transfer?

No you shouldn't, I will look into this
Looking at it you appear to still be on 265 on the details page:
http://beta.fantasytf2.com/PlayerTeam/Details/55
And on the general list
http://beta.fantasytf2.com/Home/TeamList/5
Is there anywhere else it still appears as 252, and where did it appear like that before?

I've updated the homepage so that should now show your full team score rather than just the active players.

Another question:
What's to keep players from gaming the system by chasing more matches per week?
For instance:
froyo has two matches early this week, and ELV has 1 later.
What's to keep someone from swapping from froyo to ELV players between their matches and picking up double points?
Or, less nefariously, dropping players on their 1-match week and picking them back up during their 2-match week, ultimately accruing extra matches on the books?

There's nothing to stop people doing this, it's a standard tactic in fantasy sport games. American football probably has a more regular schedule but in European soccer leagues it's standard to have teams playing at different times, on different days and having more matches in a given period than other teams.
Looking ahead at the schedule and seeing who is playing when and how well they might do is a key part of doing well and getting the most out of your budget. The main area I shouldn't have allowed gaming was for people to stack Froyotech so hard, but even so if one of those teams wants to stand out from the pack they'll have to break ranks sooner or later and make a bid for glory via a smart transfer or 2.
Also most of the people who signed up early should now have transfers available, so get switching to spruce up your team and cut that dead wood.

It could just be my browser but the dates are squishing into scores on the team page. Is this happening for anyone else?

We don't need the year to be in the date. That would make some more space for the score.
Also, is there a winner every week or just one winner at the end of the season?

The current competition is for the season. I'm working on weekly options at the moment, should have something ready for that soon.

This will be known as the season of Vaccinator; shade's just holding M2 for fantasy points
All I know is Froyotech just gave up 3 rounds to cafe monster.. the most they've given up in the regular season in almost a full year..
Because some members wanted fantasy points

That was the best match I've watched in months. If fantasy is wrong I don't want to be right.

Although it may have been amusing in the moment to see Clockwork and Serv0 run double sniper and Shade run vaccinator, looking back on it, I actually find it disrespectful. People like me, but much more so people like Dashner, Extine, tsc, uberchain (and dozens more), spend a lot of time trying to promote competitive Team Fortress, with a goal of showing the larger TF2 and eSports communities that competitive is a serious eSport worthy of consideration for sponsorships and viewership.
If Froyotech doesn't want to scrim, that's 100% fine. If they even don't want to take individual moments or rounds seriously, that's also OK.
But if certain people on that team no longer take the game seriously, and care more about some gimmick like Fantasy than the game itself and its livelihood... Then that's a problem. A big problem. And although there's no rules against what Froyotech did, I find it a huge disappointment as a fan of the game.

I agree with alkaline, If you respect competitive tf2 like me we have an avenue to deal with this kind of disrespect. I have left - karma on servO's esea page and hope everyone else does as well.
Playing that much heavy and sniper is just bad manner. Especially in invite.

48 more -karmas and he won't be able to buy flashbangs in CSGO pugs. Come on guys.

is this actually serious? im genuinely asking because i cant fathom anyone being seriously upset about this. The stakes are lower than ever in invite, and on top of that it's a random regular season match vs a team that they can apparently beat with double sniper (i didn't watch it but thats what it sounds like here)
As disappointing as it might be to watch that match, what on earth were you even expecting going into it? Are you upset you didn't get to see a sub 10 minute 5-0 that should've happened? Being slightly annoyed about it is one thing, but I can't wrap my head around making this a big deal.
A 3peat ESEA LAN/World champion team playing an online match with a standin vs a rookie invite team in a season that probably has the least stakes in years. At this point theyre just playing a video game and trying to have fun?

I think people are more concerned because these are supposed to be eSports. And if a team did shit like this in REAL spectator sports.. it would be ridiculous. What if a hockey or basketball player wanted to pad his stats so he just shot the ball or the puck every time he got it, no matter where he was. Is that sports? Is there no such thing as the spirit of the game?
If I were to take a stance, I'd say keep the shenanigans to your scrims or pugs. Good times. Fun, it's a game, etc. But I think it's disrespectful and unsportsmanlike to fuck around like that. If you paid 85 bucks to fuck around like that, people aren't going to want you on their team very long. And opponents aren't going to have a shred of respect for you.
Froyotech can do it and still win. But what would happen if a medic on another Invite team decided to go Vaccinator to pad their fantasy stats? How long do you think that team lasts as a group?

That basketball and hockey analogy doesn't apply here at all. They get paid millions to do everything in their power to win. Froyotech players are in their bedroom playing a videogame for fun on a wednesday night, in a match where they have no incentive to play their heart out.
This isn't even CSGO level. Cloud9/CLG/NLM couldn't even fathom fucking around to this extend vs the bottom of their division because the level of skill isnt as sparse in those games. The biggest issue by far in all of this is the skill gap and you guys choose to focus on the most irrelevant aspect of it while throwing ludicrous sports analogies that don't apply at all.

In a perfect world, yes, everyone plays their heart out and its a 5-4 nail biter. But in the real world there are going to be matches where the world champions might fuck around because theyre not being paid to play this trivial match against team goldfish
