Hello, i'm trying to get a HUD crosshair to work in the default TF2 Hud. what i've done (that doesnt work) is to copy from my current hud the .ttf file, modify clientscheme.res and hudplayerclass.res. i got these two files from tf2_misc_dir.vpk and i put all of this in custom.
Can someone tell me what i missed?

VictorThat's a bug. I believe hudmakers can't fix that and only valve can fix it.

There's these darker rectangles appearing. I know it's because I'm using refracts, but it only shows up in certain maps. Is there a fix?

You just get problems like that with a bunch of textures, I looked into it a bunch when I made BelleHUD.

I'm pretty sure that's placed by the map and not movable. Could be wrong, though.

From there, check "Highlight Selected" and then go through the hud elements nestled under staticClientDLLPanel until it highlights that specific green element. Other than that though, I'm not sure what else you could do.

you need to copy the itempanel section from the new files to spectator, spectatortournament and freezepanel_basic if I'm not wrong

hey, thanks for the answer. i got the images back to work, but its still showing an [unknown] in the box. is there a specific line of code i need to remove from itempannel to get that away?
edit: fixed it by completely removing the "attriblabel" section in spectator.res and the other 2 files

I'm trying to put a custom image into my tf2 main menu so I prepared the vtf file (let's call it test.vtf) and put it into the materials/console folder within my hud folder. Changed the mainmenuoverride.res to draw that picture referencing it as ../console/test. When I launched it, it seems my tf2 didn't pick up the vtf andi t draws the blank image (the pink and black square thingie valve does). Do I need to change or create files so it knows to look for that vtf when it launches?

If you're refering to the Scoreboard, there's nothing that can be done. It's all on Valve.

Try "replay/thumbnails/test" and place your vtf into 'materials\vgui\replay\thumbnails'. Console is usually used for Main Menu backgrounds. For "ControlName" you can use "ScalableImagePanel"...

You need to create a vmt for your vtf.

I'm trying to use two different backrounds to indicate low ammo. One backround for Ammo in reserve and ammo in clip and one for ammo no clip but even though only one is supposed to appear when I equip a low ammo pistol they both appear and overlap: example: http://imgur.com/a/Jghpc zoom in to the low ammo sorry for bad explaining

For some reason I can get the spectator health bars to show up, but not the player names like they do in the default hud. In spectator.res I've copied over the "spectator_extras" property from the new files, but I don't think that's what controls the names. Does anyone know the file or properties to play around with for this?
