UPDATE VIDEO IS OUT, CHECK IT OUT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aQxnd8JeM44
Haven’t seen anybody make a guide for where to place their sentries on last so i made this. for people who don’t know where to place their sentry etc. when offclassing engy on last.
My mouse cord snapped off and i’m using a shitty mouse in the meantime so i did this video while waiting for new mouse. Also this video is probably pretty worthless to most classes in 6s. lol
Anyway, comment if you got any feedback.
Also thanks for the skins LEGO fans

Thanks! I don't think anyone has ever explicitly shown spots before.
But now everyone knows those places lol

Cool video, if you do another one for other maps I think that fast forwarding the building up the sentry and having the timer scale to the ff speed would be good

If there is interest for sentry spots on other 6s maps i can do that.
Good point, first video i've made so i'll have to experiment how to do that in sony vegas.

I have one question on sentries on last : is it worth it to upgrade your sentry to level 3 or is it better to keep it @ level 2?

I think worth upgrading. Rockets do 90 damage to sentries, level 2 sentries have 180 HP and die to two rockets, level 3s have 216 and thus take another rocket.

copy pasting this from video:
"you might wonder why i choose to show you upgrading my sentries to level 3. Reason is that i usually have the time to do that when i decide it's a good time to offclass to engineer, also the 36 extra hp is nice and rockets can slow down the enemy combo when they move in through a doorway aka choke."
but yeah, if you want your sentry up like 10 seconds earlier you can keep it at level 2, it's the least risky way of having a sentry up and being able to repair it before the enemy pushes in. This also works (if not better) for sneaky sentries, but i'd avoid keeping your sentry on level 2 if you use one of the defensive placements in my video.

it just depends on what you're using them for
level 3s are better at soaking ubers.
level 2s are better at catching backcaps/flanks, while also being good at soaking ubers.

If you're not trying to put it in a sneaky spot(which tbf you rarely have time for), I think it's better to place them a little closer to the spawn door so that when you get pushed you can hit it a few times and still be able to escape to spawn.

The sneaky spots are very situational yeah, i only use it when i go engineer more than once on a map and usually only upgrade it to level 2. I think it was necessary to have them in the video too though since i feel like people want to try other sentry spots too.
The fast sentries location does have in mind to be closest to spawn as possible and still be able to push the enemy combo back instantly when they enter through a choke so they get distracted and have to uber/lose uber time. Also since in my own experience playing that i can get up atleast a level 2 sentry on the fast spots and have metal to repair it. The fast sentries location also has in mind to be able to deny people capping if they realize pushing a sentry is unnecessary when they can just walk onto point. Some of my fast sentries aren't able to fully cover the cap point though like on badlands or snakewater for example and that is something i'm trying to find a way to fix without losing too much time getting a sentry up.
Also the fact that you're behind a sentry usually means they can't hit you since the sentry is faced towards the chokepoint and you can just repair it. If they do manage to damage me though i usually just sit in spawn and wait for my sentry to die so i can switch back to scout.
Thanks for the comment!

Good, let's figure out all the good sentry spots before matchmaking. I really don't want pub players to have good engie strats :P

imo these sentry locations should be common knowledge among people who occasionally offclass engy on last.

level 2's have better knockback then level 3's which is nice if the other team likes to bomb last for a force. If its a scout/demo uber it doesn't matter as much.

The minigun bullets can hit more consistently as they don't have rockets causing sudden bursts of movement (which will cause a bullet or two to miss). It may not always be worth sacrificing level 3's rockets, however it can be very useful depending on your opponent's playstyle.

Seems really random it would get recoil from firing rockets, i'll try this when new mouse gets here and confirm it myself if it's true.

Hi sorry i forgot that this thread existed lol
I'm currently trying out some new strats due to the gunmettle update and spots for some maps that i've already showed spots on and logjam, metalworks. If there is any other 6s map you'd like me to show them off on do tell me :)
About the level 2 vs level 3 sentry argument i have noticed whenever i had a level 3 sentry it would cause their pocket to sometimes suddenly fly up in the air by the rocket and make a very small gap of time where the sentry wouldn't shoot him which would probably cause a bullet or two to "miss" like DanceNumber said.
I don't really see that to be a problem since a level 3 sentry has more advantages than disadvantages. Half of the time i will just keep the sentry at level 2 so i can repair the sentry and also worst of all is if your sentry is in the upgrade process when the enemy team pushes, basically rendering the sentry useless. It's mostly about gamesense and knowing how much time you have until the enemy team pushes. I would choose a level 3 sentry any day over a level 2 if there wasn't risk attached to getting your sentry to level 3.
TL;DR i'm gonna make another video soon(ish)
