Why do i see this heading into a CEVO type thing after the ESEA bitcoin fiasco?
Edit: Downfrag me all you want this is the exact same thing that happened with ESEA/cevo. Admin does stupid thing, community freaks out and then an alternative pop's up, people celebrate and then it crashes and burns. So i am just saying be wary.

I just want to make it clear to everyone saying this is a spurr of the moment thing fueled by the drama that I am in this for the community. I'm not doing this to enact retribution on TF2Center, I'm doing it because I want a site where people can learn competitive TF2 and integrate into the communities involved in comp TF2 e.g. ETF2L, ESEA, TFTV etc.
I just want to make it clear to everyone saying this is a spurr of the moment thing fueled by the drama that I am in this for the community. As REM said, tf2pickup doesn't want to be like tf2center at all. They don't really want the new players and the learners. We need the stepping stone from pubs into comp that tf2center and tf2lobby were, and unless we revive tf2.gg, we're gonna need to start from the ground up.

He would come to our lobbies and advertise TF2center lobbies, directly linking to them and telling our testers to go to TF2center (other early TF2center admins did this as well). He would badmouth us to others and regularly send me Steam chats sarcastically asking me for updates with how TF2.gg was going. He would also try to dig info out of me about how we were able to provide our own servers to users (at the time they were not able to do that). Neither me nor the other TF2.gg dev ever reciprocated his actions. We believed that this should be a healthy competition so we brushed his comments off. When TF2.gg was closed because of lack of development support (we were literally two people working on it), MasterNoob basically came and said "haha I won, you suck, but join us if you'd like".
It's funny to see now just how deep of a hole MN has dug himself into now. If the leadership of a product is bad, then that product will never succeed. This is what happened to TF2center. Unless the core leadership is replaced, TF2center will continue to make bad decisions.

I can confirm tf2pickup is planning a new website built from scratch, with future support for other leagues / scenes, ozfortress and NA would be the priorities. With integration with servemetf possibly (so no more server issues).
Also we are not trying to fill the same niche as tf2center as said before, so most of the tf2center playerbase is not exactly up to tf2pickup standards, as we expect people with a decent level and experience in competitive.
I think tf2center is a good site filling a critical niche in the competitive playerbase ( at least until matchmaking). And the only things it needs is some administrative changes and a complete PR rework.

i'd love nothing more than to boycott tf2center, but without an alternative, i'm basically sacrificing fun and practice just to send a message that stubborn admins wont notice or care about anyway. it's the same situation as E$EA or UGC

I doubt most people will care about the DeutchLAN drama enough to stop using a site that works, and is popular.

As far as im aware tf2center didnt spend much/or any at all? on advertising after it got solid playerbase instead relied on word of mouth advertising from tf2 community.
if/when a replacement site is online we can do the same aswell. i believe tf2 comp. community got integrity so as long as word of mouth is continuing and the players here who are commited to play it will eventually grow. Alternative host a cup with prizes and post it on here and on etf2l to get exposure

Actually I apologize for not reading the op properly, after i saw the screenshot of the post about marty on the tf2c admin forums I believe no community should endure that kind of egoistical dick. Masternoob is not fit to operate any kind of community effort. Amazing, even with a original statement so well written (and truly deserved some praise), he decided to spoil it for everyone and go on behaving like the complete child he is, what an absolute disaster.
