I can play if I leave -dxlevel 81 in my launch properties. If I remove it, I get hl2.exe crash when I connect to a server (every time). I don't want to have to leave it because then I can't shfit+tab :(

speaking of dumb bugs, i keep getting this bug where my fps will suddenly go to 50 and act like its capped there and the only way to fix it is to switch to fullscreen and then back to windowed. valve please.

I changed some settings awhile back when switching from dx8 to dx9. Now things seem foggy now that I'm back on dx8 I think. Maybe. I can't tell if it's just the change in graphics. But I'm pretty sure it's foggy.
