I'm just looking for people to post any of their unique, abstract HUD concepts that they've thought of but not really made in-game. I feel like a thread like this would help let people express different thoughts and ideas here in order to create more diversity between custom in-game huds, and spark new development in TF2 huds. Ofc this thread probably won't make a difference, but it'll probably be a fun read anyways.

You could just make the image of the viewmodel integrated into the hud, it would be static tho

One stupid sleepless night later, I made (sort of) the HUD in OP.

I couldn't make the kill icons change colour for the local player getting a kill though, anyone know if it's even possible?

I was staying up all night anyway so here is rawrsors concept pretty close to the picture he mocked up.

The white parts go blue when buffed and orange when low, the red bars are team coloured.

Just a pro tip to anyone doing hud mockups/concepts in programs like photoshop, if you're making them in 1920x1080 or the resolution of your monitor, you won't have as much space in tf2. Notice: http://i.imgur.com/5ziq0P7.png versus http://puu.sh/jrKQM/24cca85679.jpg

Is there anyway to remove the boxes behind the health and ammo and completely remove the streak counter? I like the HUD it just feels a little cluttered with those

That's because TF2 doesn't align or size anything by pixels. You have to adjust accordingly.

It helps to just multiply the pixels (if u r working in 1080p in photoshop) by 0.43 then it will be approximately in tf2 'units', if u wanna go more exact here is the number i got when messing with ratios: 0.4371

For those that check the HUD Modifications thread might have already seen this,but posting it here becuase why not.

So i have been making my own hud for a couple of days now and its going pretty okay.
This is my first time making a somewhat "serious" hud modification,before that i only changed the main menu or stuff like that.

I used 7HUD As a base for this.

Again,first time modifiying a hud and stuff so a lot of this stuff is broken.

For example,The clip ammo and the reserve ammo clip if using the Engi´s pistol or any syringe gun,i know theres text alignment that could fix this but i dont really know how.

Positioning looks more like for 3D/oculus rift use, though.

it looks really clean, but the problem with white backgrounds on menus is that if you open it at night when you're tired after scrims you're gonna sear your eyes out

possibly invert the colors with a white main text, the same secondary text, and a dark grey background??

Has anyone found a way to make the objective's progress meters line up vertically instead of horizontally? (eg payload cart tracker goes vertical instead of horizontal)

I don't think I've seen it done, but I've always liked to keep things stacked on the right side of my screen for some reason...

Sorry for Bumping is somewhat dead thread but meh.

Also theres a few buttons missing,Like Replays,The one to become a coach and the one to report bugs.
But of course,these ones are pretty much useless.

To make this,First of all i have to learn how to edit menus,and after that,get rid of the watermark on the left.
