I just tried it and I got the same results as the redditor.

Unless it's always been like this, but I don't know.

It always did 149 explosion last time I checked. The melee hit does 33 more to 1hit.

the caber does around 30 melee damage and 149 explosive damage unless it was changed

It's been like this for a while, it's like falloff. I can do anywhere from 146 to 149 damage to someone with it, depending on how close our characters' centers are. To do 150 damage you have to be inside them. Whether I hit the person or not doesn't affect the damage, only my position when it explodes.

I bet the base damage for the explosion is actually 100.
