So I recently reinstalled Windows and downgraded meanwhile, from 8.1 to 7. TF2 worked fine at first, but now it just starts, shows the normal loading screen, then goes full white and it's stuck there. If I try clicking on the game I end up with "hl2.exe stopped working".

Any ideas on what I could do to fix it?
And yes, I've tried veryfing files and defragmenting, neither helped.

How long do you wait? My game does this every once in a while but if I wait ~a minute it boots fine and is good for a while

I didn't really wait long, I'll try waiting for a bit.
EDIT:
Didn't helped, waited like 5-6 minutes and it's still frozen.

reinstall? you may have messed something up in the game files if you installed a new config/hud

Well... if it was something with the files I'm pretty sure validating files would catch it up. And I wasn't installing anything new to the game. Well, I was if modyfing huds counts as installing something.

Modifying huds could for sure cause the problem. Uninstall your HUDs. And if that doesn't work reinstall. I know someone that couldn't use custom HUDs at all until he reinstalled and he had no idea why

I'll try that
EDIT: Removing the hud didn't worked, I'll try tampering around with launch options and validate the files again, if that won't work, I'll just reinstall
SCRAP THAT, it worked suddenly, weird
